12 oz. bottle at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse
A: Dark, almost no head even with an aggressive pour. A few bits of lacing.
S: Dark dried fruit, malt, alcohol.
T: Tart fruit, a bit of chocolate, coffee, and molasses. Very little of the malt backbone I expect from a porter could be tasted through the din of the other flavors, which, while interesting, did not meld well at all. The lingering tartness just didn't work in this beer.
M: A bit watery, nothing exceptional.
D: Feh. Unpleasantly surprised by this one because I had heard good things about it.
Edit: Had a chance to try it again recently and it was much tastier than I remembered.
