This place reminds me of a disneyland version of an Irish Bar. I've gone here a few thursday nights in a row, a young crowd with many lively ladies. There's a 4 foot tall old Irishman who dances with girls non-stop to the band's music. This guy has some balls, here he is in his 80's and he goes up to the absolute hottest girls in the bar and leads them in an Irish Jig.
The beer is nothing spectacular, about 8 brews on tap. Sam adams, guiness, harps, bass, newcastle, budweiser, etc. Most BA's would enjoy the traditional Irish atmosphere more than the brew selection.
The shoreline area is getting built up quite quickly. Dubliner's is in between the yard house and pine avenue. Pine had the rock bottom brewery and about 8 decent bars all close together.

Stopped here for lunch during a conference. It was quite quiet so service was good.
The interior is very much an irish pub. Not as cheesy as many of the US versions end up being. They were even playing an English rugby match on the TV.
Beer selection is what you would expect - Guinness, Harp, Bass, Smithwicks, Newcastle, etc. Nothing too special, but still good beers.
The food was pretty good as well. I ended up with the shephards pie boxty which was pretty good. The people with me got sandwiches which also looked good.
If you are at the LB convention center and have already been to the Yard House, this place is worth a stop.

Typical Irish Pub decor, but this has a more authentic feel than most of the other US versions. Apparently the fittings were imported from Ireland. The bar is a large square in the middle - accessible from all sides. Taps are typical for this type of place - probably about 10 - 15 different ones, mostly Guinness, Harp, Bass, etc .. also had Magners cider available. Bartender was very busy, but still quick to pour us some pints. They have live music on the weekends - I will have to check that out sometime. Overall it has a very nice atmosphere and is a welcome change from many of the knock-off Irish bars I have been in.

Billed as the first authentic Irish Bar in Long Beach, the Auld Dubliner has been open for nearly a year now. I have been several times in the last 8 months but I wanted to ensure that my hatred for pseudo-theme Pubs was truly put to one side before I really made up my mind about this place. Suffice to say I actually enjoy the Auld Dubliner, typical Irish Pub clichés aside, this is actually a half decent place to spend the night drinking.
Located on South Pine Avenue it is quite literally a recent addition to both the drinking and building scene, for the Auld Dubliner forms part of new construction recently undertaken as a part of The (new) Pike Project. Pretty low key from the outside there is a small ramp (a nice touch that!) and a small drinking cum smoking area that is bounded by a steel fence. It is pretty easy to find, for it is situated right opposite the Convention Center, which also means that for those on foot, it makes a great stop if you are heading from the Rock Bottom to the Yard House, its right on the way between the two.
The bar and some of the fittings were all imported from Ireland so the story goes, and once inside marks have to be given for the interior, it does have a solid authentic feel, as opposed to a tacky one. Lots of Guinness memorabilia and Irish bric-a-brac. The square wooden bar is centrally located and accessible on all four sides - it is possible to walk all around the perimeter completely. Service can take a while, but thats part of the charm I guess, when you do catch the bartenders eye they will recognize you with a nod and just shout your order and wait your time, your beer will turn up! I dont mind this kind of service at all, coming from England Im used to it, but I do notice that some locals find it frustrating and hard to come to terms with. The key is to get your place at the bar, stay cool, and simply wait your turn, simple really for what its worth shouting and trying to jump the line doesnt get you anywhere here, I like that too.
Beer Taps are all clumped together on each side of the Bar from memory. Range is nothing spectacular but interesting enough to offer something for everyone; Guinness Stout, Harp Lager, Newcastle Brown Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Smithwicks, Magner Irish Cider (uurgh!!), John Courage, Stella Artois, Pyramid Hefeweizen, Boddingtons, Bass Ale, Pilsner Urquell, Amstel Light and a Beer of the Month which has featured Sierra Nevada Celebration and will shortly feature Bigfoot. The Beer of the Month rotates frequently and is usually always a craft brew. Often they will have a Buy a Beer and Keep the Glass Night when promoting certain brews. They run a selection of Bottled Beers to cater for the Bud-Miller-Coors brigade as well as having Heineken, Sam Adams and Corona in the bottle fridge too.
Best of all though you get a real Pint in here, and they arent shy in telling you that they are proud to offer 20 Fluid Ounce Imperial Pints. Bonus Points for that.
If you manage to get one of the many wooden tables that line the outside walls, you may get waited on a by a Server, but be warned that that too can take time.
Serves a good range of food, Appetizers, Soups & Salads, Entrees, Sandwiches & Burgers, Boxty (Irish Potato Pancake) Dishes, as well as the more Traditional Irish Fayre. The food is not exclusively Irish, they have Yorkshire Puddings and New York Steak, but the more traditional food does look good - not that I have actually eaten here yet, Im usually too busy drinking and socializing.
This is a great place to be on a Friday Night, its a happening location and a nice addition to the Pub scene in Long Beach. On my last visit they had an Irish Singer Songwriter billed as Hugh playing some old favorites, often to request, this just added to the bustling atmosphere. As busy as it gets, and as long as it may take to get served, I find it extremely easy to relax in here, and kick back over a few full-sized Pints and people watch. One of these days though I would dearly love to see Beamish or Murphy's Stout on tap in an Irish Bar as well, I'm sure that won't happen here with Guinness on sale. Nevertheless, Ill be back here for sure anyways.
