Very dark, intense copper color in the Stella Artois tall glass. Nice tall foam with a pleasant but unremarkable sudsiness. Some fruitcake aromas.
Some candy sweetness along with the malty flavors. Warm and nutty. A hint of pecans with some of the band-aid aroma. Modestly bitter. Finishes rather dry, though with just a modest amount of the Belgian yeasty flavors. This has some of the character of the style but it seems to be simpler and less interesting than I would want. Still, each pour and sip flushes up the suds and some fruity darkness that is pleasant.
From the 22 oz botle bought at BevMo in San Diego.

Beautiful earthy brown appearance. Exceptionally balanced with an almost sterilizing fragrance. Hints of candy taste, and chewy sugary fruits. Very round. Dry finish.
22 oz. Bottle purchased at Specific Gravity in Salisbury, Md. Drank from Dogfish Pint Glass.
Only quarrels people might have is that this beer doesnt have much of a standout featurethat makes it enticing to drink more, but this attributes to its impeccable balance and superb mechanics. Good beer for a craftsman, not a guzzler.
