Poured from a bomber into a tulip glass.

A: Slightly hazy, medium orange-amber color with less than one finger of diminishing white foam head. Scant lacing remains on the glass.

S: Crystalized orange and pineapple candy are bold, supported sufficiently by a strong backbone of caramel.

T: Begins sweet, with juicy dark citrus, bold acidity, and some aggressive astringency that is surprising in its precociousness. Flavors develop some odd savory qualities as well as fruity esters into the middle, where harsh alcohol leaves a perception of spicy chiles well into the finish that is astringent, medicinal, and bracingly bitter.

M: Medium viscosity, sticky on the palate with resins, and with moderate carbonation.

D: This DIPA smells good enough, but the clashing and confused flavors suggest a kitchen-sink approach to its crafting. It seems appealing until it crosses the tongue, where it repeatedly shows off its faults. Harshness is perhaps the best way to characterize this beer's flavor, ultimately rendering it nearly undrinkable.

Pours a clear light amber color with a quickly fading white head that leaves chunks of lacing.

Smells of citrus and pine hops.

Tastes of the citrus hops with some malt undertones. Hops lead off with citrus and pine notes, but I also pick up a little vegetable-like notes that are not enjoyable. Fairly bitter overall. Hops lead into malt sweetness with some caramel along with toasted bread. Alcohol is well hidden.

Mouthfeel is medium with a slightly crisp amount of carbonation.

Overall, this is a decent IIPA, but the vegetable-like hops really hit a note I don't like.

Decent American IPA. Visually looks great and very strong. There's plenty of hops there, but they feel weaker. The flavor is very subdued. I was expecting a kick in the teeth, instead this one went down easy. A good DIPA/AIPA for a hot summer's eve, but not world class.

I've been on a Double Imperial IPA kick over the last few months and I have to share that this DIIPA has become my latest go-to brew. "Sucks" is great. Hopslam's a no-brainer, too, but I'll take Rampage over Hercules or Ruination any day, and I appreciate that I don't have to wait-til-next-year to find it. This thing is loaded with citrus and pine with no off notes to this tasters palate. At $8 a bomber it's fairly priced, as well. Looking forward to finding it on tap someday.

Pours a two-finger cream head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Medium-strong carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is grapefruit hops, flavor is grapefruit hops and hints of caramel. Lingering bitter finish. $8.75 for a 22oz bottle from Bert's Better Beers Hooksett, NH

From a 22 oz bottle ordered from Letspour.
Pours a yellow gold with 1/2 inch head.
Light aroma of a laundry room and melon rind.
Significant carbonation and mouthfeel.
Flavors are big on the hop end...slight grass, grapefruit, earth. There's a touch of oxidation from shipping, I'm guessing, but it's not major. Overall a flavorful hoppy malt monster with a great elephant label design.
