A- Really nice pub. Feels a bit like you've stepped back into time... if places had 30 taps back in the day. Dark woods mixed with greens and copper, booths, great bar, high tops, and taps galore. Nice outdoor patio for summer quaffing. Love the old-school ceramic beer towers.

Q- Nothing bad to say about the place.

S- Somehow I always end up at this place during the off hours and have gotten attentive service.

S2- 30 taps with a good variety of styles. They've got something you'll like, for sure.

F- Everything I've had was good.

V- In line with the rest of asheville.

Definitely not my first choice of places to eat and drink, but it's fun to occasionally meet people there to hang for a couple hours. About the atmosphere, to be expected, your garden variety fake wannabe Irish pub. I seriously don't mean to be cruel but I am sick and tired of the theme. Too many preppy fratboy college kids as patrons. The service is standard but you kind of get the feeling that the staff got their jobs as a result of a popularity contest. The one good thing is that they do offer a pretty good selection of imported draughts. As for the food, well, Irish food is not among the worlds greatest but occasionally I do enjoy a corned beef and cabbage. To sum it up it's an ok place to meet friends if you're on your way to another destination.

This one is pretty nice, but not the greatest. There was live music when we showed up, and a nice outdoor seating area and a nice little bar area. The beer was poured alright. Many of the beer available were exports - trying to stick with the Irish theme, but there was a nice section of local microbrews. The service I had was great. Our waiter was very friendly, and checked on us often, brought me my drink fairly quickly. I was pretty impressed by the service at this place. The selection was fairly expansive, but not amazing compared to a few other places in the area, and a decent price in my opinion. Like I mentioned, there was quite a list of export - british/irish drafts, a long list of bottles and the local stuff. A good selection. The food was decent, Irish type food. The shepherds pie was more like a stew, heavy on the beans. But the bangers and mash were nice I thought. Overall, a decent place to stop among many in the town.

This is my wife and I's favorite pace to tie one on while in Asheville. Although not featuring the selection of Barley's or the Mushroom, Hannah has a number of good beers, especially English, that no one else has on tap plus a laid back, relaxed vibe.

The location is great and the inside is really dark, like seedy bars, but classier in clientele and service. They also have pool, fooz, and video games in the back. The juke box has tons of songs but is a ripoff. Beerwise, they've got 20+ taps but only about a third really caught my eye. For me, the standouts were Bitter and Twisted, Bombardier, Hobgoblin and Young's DCS but they also had some decent local stuff. Prices were good, not great but service is attentive and friendly. Another good one in Asheville.

Stopped here with my friend on our "beer quest". Nice little place with about 15 taps. Probably the best place for beers from the UK. I had a Highland Black Mountain Organic Bitter (I think that's right) and a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. The Young's was on nitro and along with looking neat when it was poured tasted great on tap (I have also had it in the bottle).

Service was good, and the atmosphere was cozy. I didn't try the food, so I can't comment on that. If you like English beers, especially stouts, definitely check this place out. It is right up and across the street from Barley's.

I've never been to Ireland, but my friend who I went with has and said it resembles an Irish pub. Nice intimate setting, a smaller place.
Lot's of imported taps with the whole regular Highland line too. I was impressed to see Meantime London Porter on-tap. Lot's of taps. I didn't count but I'd say between 15-20. Food is good. I really enjoyed the Sheppard's Pie. Great food prices. Pint prices are about on par with the rest of Asheville. Neat little place to stop in if Barley's is too crowded.

Ok, now if you are a lover of all things Irish or English you need to take a trip to this place. One of the best selections of import taps from England I have seen down here. Lots of wynchwood, and some rotating stuff I had never even heard of. It was just really cool. Located right downtown, just up the street from Barleys (I know) it really is a cool little place. Food was really good as well, and I was surprised but it was not very crowded at all. I really had a pretty chill time here and would definitely recommend going back. It was especially cool for my wife who loved the music that night. Just a cool overall laid back vibe, and more then a decent selection to partake in. I would definitely recommend this place, and the one in Hendersonville as well if that gets added in here.

The best place you can go if you're looking to try imported stuff on-tap. Lots of beers I'd never excpect to try other than in a bottle. Didn't really get around to much beer but I was surely impressed by it. Ohara's Irish Stout, Bluebird Bitter, Fuller's Porter, Hobgoblin, and plenty of others that aren't coming to mind at the moment. Kind of a smaller place but it is similar to a Pub setting. Pretty good service but it seems to be the type of place that gets overlooked...the bartender had friends that she was socializing with throughout the meal. The food is basic and pretty much average. Reasonable prices.

I'd actually recommend stopping by here if you're interested in some imported pints!

This is a nondescript little pub that has always provided me with good times over the years upon each visit. The main bar area is reasonably narrow, but runs deep into building, with adequate seating throughout, including a patio area in the spring and summer months. Plenty of wood and a fairly historic feel upon entering. A European Draught set up highlights the long Victorian style bar. My last visit I was impressed by their increased beer selection especially the Fuller's ESB and O'Hara's Celtic stout on draught, which are not on tap standards for the area. Not unlike the last review I had some somewhat sketchy service while there on a steady but not so busy Sat afternoon. No issues with improper pours, but Asheville is a pretty earthy town which has its pros and cons. Nice vibe and friendly people in general are pros, but apathy in the waitstaff is almost a given. If you hail from a more urban area, take a deep breath and don't get into a hurry while there. They definitely mimic the more laid back feel of pubs of Ireland with the speed of service: not overly slow but certainly not fast either. I think this is much more of an unintentional byproduct of the high hippie factor (i.e. ganja induced) than a concerted effort on the part of the mangement to emulate true Irish pubs. Long story short, if and only if you're not in a hurry, stop in and have a pint or two

We went there on the recommendation of our B&B host. It was remarkably quiet, then again, it was a Wednesday night. All sorts of sporting events were on the telly: Champions League footie, basketball, hockey, and tennis were on display. Given the new 15% alcohol law, their beer selections have apparently increased. They had over 15 different beers on tap. Of course, being in an Irish pub, I asked for a pint of Guinness. However, I was very disappointed with it. A purist at heart, the bartender did not let the Guinness settle. Instead, the waitress brought the pint to me within two minutes of ordering it. I didn't like this at all. However, the service was overall average. As for the food, it was good. My wife really enjoyed the grilled cheese and I liked the waffle fries. Standard-fare Irish pub, though they need to learn how to pour a proper pint.
