A: Cloudy yellow body beneath a thin finger thick head of bright white. Head retention and lacing are both limited (probably due to dirty bar glasses and not the brewing).
S: Basic Bavarian-style aroma with some wheat, mild banana, and soft spice.
T: Standard Bavarian as expected. Clean. Perhaps a little bit light, but certainly not out of style. All of the components balance nicely. Well-balanced and refreshing with a slight tang.
M: Medium to medium/light in body and crisp. Given the body, the carbonation is right on.
O: Not a bad choice. It's not one of the fuller hefeweizens I've tasted, but this is what you need in NOLA... something a little more refreshing... and regardless, worth trying.

Pours a dense cloudy golden yellow, little head or retention. Scent brings whiffs of dough, banana, clove and orange peel. Taste follows the scent, muddled taste overall as things never really come together. Medium bodied, some hints of dense yeasty particles. A barely passable wit with mild, muddled flavors.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured into a sample glass.
Appearance: Darker golden, but clear (not cloudy...hmmm). No head retention. Yeeeah, not off to a good start.
Nose: Smells of cloves, spices, an undercurrent of banana. Some sage an parsley too (interesting).
Taste: I get banana, creamsicle, finish is musty/stale and underwhelming.
Mouthfeel: Creamy, slightly acidic, medium bodied.
Overall: Meh. Missing some crucial aspects of a Hefeweizen, and just not too great overall.

Actually had this before dinner at the Brewery on my honeymoon in NOLA.
Came out nice on Tap with a cloudy honey gold color with a head about a half an inch or so. the beer smelled like clove with just a small hint of banana. Clove was really the dominant taste through out the entire beer with a slight spicy finish, somewhere between scent and taste the banana completely vanished, which was disapointing.

Weiss Beer (Hefe)
Had draft sampler at Crescent City Brewhouse, NO on 3/19/09 - afternoon
A 2.0 - Very cool mini wheat type glasses for their 5 brew sampler. Little to no head, a minimal lace collar (could be the pour or sampler glass?). Cloudy soapy honey in color. Strangest looking hefe I have ever seen. No sediment - just a soapy type appearance. Looks like milky yellow dishwater.
S 2.0 - Can not make out any Hefe aroma whatsoever. Almost skunky in smell.
T 2.5 - Can not make out any Hefe tastes whatsoever. No banana or clove notes. Maybe some mild wheat notes - but that's a stretch. Maybe some tartness but not in a good way.
MF 2.5 - weird. Medium in body, low in carbonation.
D 2.0 - This was one of the worst Hefes I have ever had to date. It was a real let down. All the other brews in my sampler were okay, but this one was way off in style, and was not enjoyable at all.

Properly cloudy; golden color; Surprisingly, absolutely no head (nor lace).
No wheat aromas. In fact, there is little smell at all. What I can detect is middle-of-the-road beer aroma.
The flavor has low wheat tastes, which is my preference. Yet, the beer still has the typically spicy flavors one expects from a hefeweizen. Expected body and carbonation.
If you prefer lower wheat, this may be the beer for you. A perfect introduction.

Nice straw colored and cloudy with a decent head. Excellent banana/clove aroma that I love. Head remained strong throughout the glass.
Taste was rather subdued but had an excellent finish. Carbonation was perfect for the style and made for a mouthfeel that was well above average.
Took a growler back to the hotel and got it refilled the next day. I would definitely recommend this to other NO visitors.

The color is golden orange, very hazy. The head is good and has some staying power. The aroma has the typical banana-clove hefe smell, but probably isn't quite powerful enough. The taste has an initial bite of spice flavors, with banana and clove sticking out. Very spicy and active on the tongue. The finish is cleaner and consists primarily of dry wheat flavor. Crescent City's version of the hefe gets the German taste right and is definently not an American wheat beer.

Hazy yellow in color with a thin 1/2" head. No lemon garnish. No lacing with this brew. Aroma was pleasant as wheat, banana, and spice are easily detectable. The flavor is decent but the flavors (as with most CC brews) seemd toned back. The wheat is not as up front as you would like it to be, and there is a slight sourness to this. Also there was a hint of spiciness to this.
The mouthfeel is crisp and the wheat does linger on the tongue for a short period after swallowing. This was mild on the flavor front and the mild sourness brought this down a notch in drinkability.

This was perhaps the better of the beers that I had here. It is a cloudy, light golden-yellow color. Big head, with decent lacing. Bready, yeasty nose, with a slight hint of lemon (no slices were evident). Good wheat body and taste. There was a slight hint of banana to the taste. Slightly spicy finish. Very good!

The weiss had a decent hazy yellow appearance with a nice white head. Smell was ok. Cloves and banana notes, but no real malt presence.
Taste was acceptable, but nothing to jump up and down about. It did go very well with the fresh oysters, so thats a plus. Some spic/clove notes but the banana taste was a little too estery for me. Some malt crept in to try and modulate the taste.
Mouthfeel was slightly thin, drinkability was slighlty above average.

On tap at the brewhouse, this is about as refreshing a weiss beer as you're going to find. Aroma of banana and clove, with a hint of orange. Nice. Taste is quite balanced, again orange, banana, and clove, with the carbonation of an Orange Crush. Very tasty!
