A: pours a deep golden orange with a two finger dense off white head
S: smells of pine, orange marmalade, and sweet citrus a little alcohol and a bit floral as well
T: woody and earthy hops and a bit of pine. bready malt backbone and a slight citrus flavor. aftertaste brings a kick of oily earthy hops and a bit of sweet malt struggles to come through
M: medium to full with slightly prickly carbonation, slightly slick and oily but not bad
O: A pretty tasty DIPA that is well made but doesn't really stand out. Definitely not overly sweet but still having something like balance.

Pours a clear golden orange color with a pillow soft white head that lasts forever. Heavy on the pine and floral hop notes. A light grass aroma, some grapefruit, and maybe a hint of bread. The flavor is much different than expected. Intensely oily and resinous hop character. Tons of pine and grapefruit peel. A light malt sweetness and a substantial bitterness. The hop flavors seem to adhere to the tongue. Really interesting, and not in the usual sense of the word when it comes to Short’s.

Small bottle from Steve. Pours light grapefruit body with generous retained head. Mild hop aroma. A good drinkable bitterness, high IBU but not a palate shredder, fuller mouthfeel. Surprised at the high level of alcohol, it was well hid. Bottled in April, received in May. Good 1.5X IPA.

Bottle from FlandersNed - approximately two months old, but still in the ideal range for the style. Served in a Hill Farmstead glass.

A - Off-white foam settles to a thin cap, thicker collar, and splotchy lacework. Murky orange body.

S - Super earthy and piney hops, with some zesty grapefruit peel and rind mixed in for good measure. Malt character is quite bready, and there's a faint alcohol note present. Far less sweet than your typical DIPA.

T - The taste is a bit more to my liking with some candied citrus flavor balancing out the leafy and earthy hops. Malt is quite subdued, and there's a mild astringency in the finish, but thankfully the alcohol presence is diminished.

M - Medium-full body, moderate carbonation, dry finish, and some oily and resinous tooth-coating residuals. Mild alcohol warming, but nothing excessive for 8.5%.

D - A decent enough DIPA, but nothing special. Might make a nice change-of-pace beer while drinking in Michigan, but I prefer regular Huma-Lupa-Licious to be honest. Still, a few of use easily finished the 12oz bottle.

Bottle to Pint
12 oz

Thanks to CPAbeer and Stormking47 for this one.

App- A good darker hazy orange with some soft yellow floating downwards. Very nice one in head that was off white with a ton of cling down the glass.

Smell- Fairly unbalanced amount of malts and citrus. A large bitter and had some of that Shorts Spruce pilsner spice on the nose with with some dampness behind it.

Taste- This is what I said about regular Huma. Wow. This is a small bottle but has some huge flavors with it. Now double this one but doesnt all mesh well together. A lot of bitter behind this one and a bit dry on the flavor. Only a fraction of the citrus from the nose comes on the profile. More creamy and full hops with some spice come out.

Mouth- A fuller medium body with a medium carbonation that is a bit dry with a nice big bitter flavor. Lots of creamy and spicy hops on the finish.

Drink- This is quite spicy and bitter with the best of the other American IPA's but still has a strong creamy presence behind it. A nice beer but this profile is not for me.

A- Pours a deep golden orange. Thick white and creamy head that sits around forever
S- Sweet citrus, pine, grapefruit
T- Major grapefruit! Like actually eating a grapefruit. Some earthy hops. Nice balance of bready malts, though the hops kind of take over on this one.
M- Medium to full body. Prickly carb. Long, sticky, and dry finish.
O- A great DIPA. Major citrus and grapefruit with some woody/earthy/oaky character to it. Hops in the face are definitely there. Decent balance with the malt. Definitely want more.
