Gifted by Afdempse- Thanks Adam!

Pours an sunset orange color with a one finger white head in my snifter. Massive lacing on the side of the glass. Somewhat murky in appearance. The nose is fantastic. Citrus, pine, spruce, orange, tangerine, hops. It's really well balanced, and just about perfect for a session IPA. The taste gives out hops, spices, spruce, grapefruit and lemon. A tad different than the nose profile, but still really nice. Feel is medium w/ a nice hops bite that lasts well into the aftertaste. Fairly dry finish, and good carbonation as well. Overall, this is possibly the best session IPA I've tried. I could easily down several of these and be a happy BA.

Pours a pale-straw color, almost Kolsch-looking, very little bit of cloudiness in the middle but still fairly transparent. Very volatile, huge, white, foamy head, even with a modest pour. Aroma has tons of citrus, namely grapefruit and orange peel. Nice perfume-like aromas, very hoppy and floral. Picking up somewhat of a weird aroma as well, very reminiscent of dishwasher soap... Taste is full of dank hop bitterness all the way around. Peppery spice backs things up; leafy, dry - a bit different from the nose, as the citrus flavors barely come out in the taste; I'm getting mostly just florals, here. Slight piney and woody flavor on the end of the tongue with a slightly salty finish. Sad to say, the weird dish soap aroma come out in the flavor a bit, too. It was throwing things off just a bit, though not strong enough to ruin the beer. Pretty thin body with very high carbonation.

Decent IPA, especially for being only 4% ABV. Then again, a low gravity typically emphasizes bitterness, so it's no wonder this beer was still packed with hop flavor. Some weird soapy hints kind of made me scratch my head, but didn't completely kill the vibe. This is similar to a toned down Huma Lupa Licious, in which case, why not just have one of those? And if you're in it for the low ABV, Founder's All Day is the way to go. Still a decent brew, though.

2.5 finger head on a cloudy golden with slight brownish hue body. Grapefruit, pineapple and orange peel for citrus, herbal hops and a mild burnt oak aroma. Flavor is excellent as well with Herbal and citrus hops with a hint of pine resin more towards the finish with some tart orange. Too carbonated for my liking and medium body. This one is really good. The carbonation is distracting but the aroma and flavor pair well although te flavor is fairly simple.

A. Pours a clear orange tone with two fingers of off white head that disappears quickly. Not much retention or stick.

S. big zesty citrus and floral hop smell.

T. Big favors but not much else besides the hop components. Dry perfume like finish.

O. This reminds me a bit of hangin frank. Decent session ipa but in that relm it's a dime a dozen.

pour clear golden orange with a fluffy dense white head. Nose has pale malt, notes of grain transitioning to some sweet caramel as the hops fade in, rather floral and zesty with a tinge of citrus. The taste is a bit muddled compared to the well balanced nose. The malts seem messier and slightly toasted. There is a hint of biscuit mid palate with a sweet caramel playing in towards the back as the hops come in but less vibrant than the nose. Floral and herbal with strong bitterness in the finish. Carbonation is light on a heavy body not quite doing it as the finish feels short and syrupy.

I picked up a bottle of Short's Ale La Reverend a few days ago for $1.99 at The Lager Mill. I missed out on this beer when it was released last year so I made sure to get a bottle of this years release, I'm in the mood for something hoppy. so lets see how it goes. No visible bottling date, but I know it's fairly fresh. Poured from a brown 12oz bottle into an imperial pint glass.

A- I like the label on this beer, the artwork is nice and vivid, it poured a hazy and lighter golden color that took on a little bit of an orange hue when held to the light with a fingers worth of white head that quickly died down to a thin ring that stayed till the end and left a slight bit of spotty lacing. This beer looks ok, the color was nice but the head and lacing were a little disappointing.

S- The aroma starts off with loads of hops that impart a big grapefruit aroma followed by some nice tropical fruit aroma and a little bit of floral hops. After that I get a slight bit of malts that impart a medium sweet bready and grainy aroma. I really like the aroma of this beer, it's dominated by grapefruit and tropical fruit, very well done.

T- The taste seems to be similar to the aroma and it starts off with loads of hops that impart big grapefruit flavors followed by some nice tropical fruit in the background, but it's the grapefruit that sticks out the most. After that comes a slight bit of malts that have a lower amount of medium sweetness and impart a slight grainy and bready flavor. Towards the end comes a little bit of spicy hops that impart a high amount of bitterness with a grapefruit rind like aftertaste. This was a great tasting beer, there's a lot of great flavors in such a small beer, but the bitterness could be toned down just a notch.

M- Pretty smooth, clean, crisp, medium bodied, with a nice amount of medium carbonation. The mouthfeel was good and it worked nicely with this beer, I have no complaints.

Overall I thought this was a great beer and a great example of a Session IPA, it had all those big hops flavors you would expect from a strong IPA, or DIPA, but without all the alcohol. This beer had pretty good drinkability, I could drink about three of these but I think after that the bitterness would get to be too much, but the flavor does a great job at holding my attention. What I liked most about this beer was the aroma and taste, they were both great and some of the best I've encountered in a Session IPA. What I liked the least about this beer was the appearance, the color was nice, but the head and lacing were a little disappointing. I would for sure buy this beer again, I'm kinda bummed I only bought one bottle, hope it's not all gone, I will get a six pack if they release it next year and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good Session IPA. All in all I was pretty impressed with this beer, I think this is better Session IPA then Prolonged Enjoyment, it's just got better hop flavors while still being very light, this is up there as one of my favorite Session IPA's, great Job Short's this is an awesome beer.
