A- poured 1FH orangey and hazy. a little darker than expected.
S- aroma of moderate hops, notes of citrus but with a sweet tone probably from the raisins.
T- with the aroma a bittersweet character with dank hops. more malty than hoppy from what i remember when i had it on tap last year. raisiny sweets initially with a pretty strong alcohol finish.
M- a fairly balanced DIPA that seems to achieve what joe was aiming for. very drinkable.
I- I had this on tap in bellaire last year and was very excited for its release. 2011 on tap I remember being much hoppier with more citrusy hoppy characters and a hint of raisin, which is what hyped me up about the beer. this year's bottle release was a bit disappointing, but nonetheless a very drinkable and delicious beer. will have no problem finishing off my sixer! Cheers!

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a Half Acre tulip.
A- Pours a dark copper with a 1 finger light tan head. Small blotches and bubbles on the glass.
S- Citrus, pine and grape juice.
T- Sweet caramel malts, citrus and pine bitterness, plum and grape juice.
M- Medium body and carbonation. Slight dry with a astringent after taste that lingers.
O- Raisins in a IPA doesn't sound good and it isn't. Take the raisins out and this is probably a good dipa.

A - pours an orangish amber caramel color with a nice looking fluffy white head
S - nose consists of lots of floral, piney hops with a little bit of earthy onions in the mix
T - starts off with sweet raisin and grape flavors. These move on to a little bit of grain and cookie malts, but are quickly overtaken by bitter onion, pine, and juicy citrus hops. Ends with bitter hops and a little bit of hot booziness.
M - Full bodied and smooth; goes down well
D - overall, another unique, interesting beer by Shorts. The reasons weren't as noticeable as I had anticipated, but they worked well in the DIPA style, which I feel is a hard style to add anything to. Recommended if you can find it.
