Got this one from my Kuhnhenn Mead hookup. I would give him a shout out by name but I don't want you to steal him from me :)

A: Pours a nice golden orange with a very small whispy head. No retention or lace.

S: Aromas of light citrus and mild lime zest. Mild sweetness beneath with hints of cream and bread.

T: The citrus is there but it is not at all biting. Hints of lactose sugar, crust, and a dash of half and half. Creamy and smooth, but I wish it had a bit more of the bite that key limes pack.

M: Rather mild in carbonation. Smooth, but pretty still on the tongue.

D: Pretty good. It was a great shot, but it fell a bit short of hitting the mark. I love that Short's experiments like they do. Some are dead on, others are a bit off. This one is the latter.

On tap at Old Chicago. Pours a soft amber color with a weird, olive-green tint to it - not heavy, but a little "sickly" looking. Translucent with a bit of haze in the middle. Head nearly nonexistent, except for a small, white ring around the edge of the beer, possibly due to the pour, however. Aroma definitely had some light grahama cracker, alongside toasted caramel from the malt. Lime? Yeah, it's there. Or, something is, rather. The aroma doesn't give off immediate sensors of "lime", but SOME kind of fruitiness that seems more flat and sweet instead of tart and vibrant. Zesty, but not exceedingly so.

The taste is.... strange, to say the least. Starts off with a bit of citrus flavor; lime and lemon - again, moreover it's just sweet and kind of dull, not at all tart or sour like lambics, wild ales, or some other fruit beers. Bread from the malt, as well as an even lighter presence of caramel, adds a bit to the sweetness. Lack of a bitter counterpoint makes this beer a little lopsided and almost too sweet. After a while, the flavors grow, but not exactly in a good way. By the end of this one, things get a little tiring. Sweet, light citrus finish with little hints of malt. Thin body with a heavy carbonation handle.

This beer was interesting, and I'm glad to try it. And it wouldn't be bad in 4-oz samples. But an entire pint was a little much. Good at first, then it turned into "meh". I feel that with some tweaks, this could turn into a damn good beer. Right now, though, only slightly above average.
