12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours with a bright copper body and quite a bit of yeast/pectin floating about. Head is excellently retained thanks to an uppity carbonation level, and the creamy tan foam leaves behind some good lacing. Who knew strawberries made for good head retention? Smell is unique, something Short's has managed with almost every one of their dessert beers. Musty, almost over-ripened strawberry flesh backed up against a doughy bread note, lactose, and a hint of tartness suggesting green berry vines.
Flavor is less focused on the fruit and comes in stronger with the maltiness, laying down a semi-nutty, bread crust and graham cracker backbone upon which flashes of strawberry and star fruit are painted. Again, a tinge of sourness like a Wild Ale in its infancy--tastes like it should be there though, so no worries of infection. Mouthfeel is crisp and inviting in its medium-full body. Big bubbles lull across the tongue and make for easy drinking. Once again, Short's manages to pull off the unthinkable in the beer world. Gimmicky? Perhaps, but the craftsmanship is always solid.

HA! Shorts did it again!!!!
Super easy pour into a tulip receptacle. Off-white soapy head falls quickly. Brew is deep ruby red, pretty cloudy.
Super strawberry aroma, lots of cream on the base too.
Surprisingly not overly sugary. Very smooth and strawberry. Very delicious. Perfect light carbonation, no off-flavors, no bitterness, and not a sugar bomb.
Quite possible the funniest brew i've ever had. Very unique and enjoyable on a hot day. Its definitely a strawberry shortcake. If you like Fruit Brews, this is a MUST try! Thanks Adam for sharing.

Poured into a snifter, the beer was a deeply red tinted golden color with a modest white head. Only a very slight lacing left on the glass, but that it is not what we are here for. The aroma on this beer is amazing. It is like walking through a strawberry patch in June. Notes of carmel and a distinct beer note are also present in the aroma. This is such an easy drinker. The tang of the strawberry comes through in a big way in the initial taste. It tastes as though the strawberries might have been picked a hair too early, but it is still fabulous. The backbone is a smooth creamy sensation that coats the mouth nicely. It puts the cream in the strawberry short cake. Notes of carmel and a mild grassy note are also present. The strawberry tang continues into the aftertaste, but fades quickly. The fact that the beer is thin makes it an easy drinker, but does not allow the taste to linger. Short's did an amazing job of capturing the taste of Strawberry Short Cake in this beer. It is a nice desert beer.

12oz bottle into snifter. Thanks jbck109 for this one.
A: Pours a light pink tinged orange with a finger of off-white head that faded into thin collar.
S: Very sweet notes of strawberry syrup and strawberry candy on the nose. Very fruity, sweet and slightly funky.
T: Follows the nose with dominant flavors of strawberries. This drinks like a slightly less sweet and carbonated melted popsicle. I don’t know if I’d call it shortcake, but there are a few other sugary flavors in there as well. Thankfully the sweetness isn’t cloying, and I guess I’d call this refreshing.
M: Medium body, fizzy carbonation, light, sweet and smooth. Thankfully not heavy or syrupy.
O: A strawberry lover’s beer. Glad it wasn’t infected. Drinks pretty well actually. Worth checking out, thanks Jay.

Received as an extra in a trade. Poured into Dogfish Head Chalice.
A - Pours a clear dark reddish amber hue with a light one finger head that fades quickly to leave a light, thin halo.
S - Faint strawberry and shortcake. LOTS of cake (but of old cake) with some slight sweetness.
T - Nice light strawberry and cake, like stale shortcake. Lingering sweetness with some light vanilla. Strawberry is faint but noticeable.
M - Mouthfeel is nice with solid carbonation, albeit a bit on the sweet side.
O - Overall too much overcooked shortcake for my liking. Tone that one back and amp up the strawberry and this ones a winner.

An orangey-red barely translucent brew with a tiny ring of head and minimal sprouts of carbonation.
Strawberry preserves and white english muffin/ sourdough in the nose, just like the name would lead one to believe! Getting some nice ting of dark-fruit skin- grapes and blueberries. Suggests a mild tartness, which is exciting.
Lots of bready malt with a tiny fruity sweetness and a prominent berry taste. There is a wheatiness that seems to un-balance the flavors, but is ok after a few sips, once you know what to expect.
Mouthfeel is sticky and creamy- in small amounts. Overall, a thin-bodied beer that could even be called refreshing.
