A: Poured from the caged & corked 750 ml bottle into a pilsner glass. Body is golden-colored with a 1+ finger foamy white head that retains well.

S: Sweet malt - cereal grains (corn?) and modest perfumey hops.

T: Husky grains, sweeter malts and a touch of lemony hop bitterness at the finish. Overall impression is one of sweetness. However, I just had a Uinta Tilted Smile (also an Imperial Pilsner) before this, and this one is not as sweet. Hops and spiciness provide balance. Finishes with a nice lingering grassy bitterness.

M: Medium in heft with a slightly slick feel to it.

O: Decent. Not a style I love (my feeling is that pilsners by definition need to be light and imperializing them detracts more than adds), but. . . this is a decent beer.

Pretty golden body with a creamy finger of head.

Nose is grassy hops with a distinctly sweet note.

Flavor starts out sweet, then sort of spreads it around a bit. Grassy hops, candi sugar, tart lemon, clean finish.

Mouthfeel has a bit of the old "Sweet-Tart" quality to it. Leaves a tingle on the tongue.

Overall, pretty good, but too sweet. I long for an overhopped Imperial Pils with a Pliny-like understated malt body. Maybe someday I'll brew one.

Pours a hazy yellow-orange with a fluffy white head

Smells of citrus, herbs, floral hops. Light pear and green apple, a little alcohol sweetness, maybe a little biscuity malt

Taste is different than other "imperial pilsners" I've tried. Dominated by a grassy hop bitterness..a little citrus peal, herbal hops, minor note of caramel sweetness. Not overly impressive, but I'm having no trouble finishing the bottle, despite sharp bitterness and alcohol presence.

Pretty heavy mouthfeel for the style, slightly sticky, mild alcohol burn on the back end as the glass warms.

Not bad, may or may not buy more, but am glad I got to try it.

750 ml bottle into pilsener glass, bottled in Spring 2012. Pours very hazy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, biscuit, nuttiness, orange zest, herbal, floral, light pepper, grass, and earthy spiciness. Some nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and decent strength. Taste of lemon, pear, pepper, bread, cracker, floral, pine, light nuttiness, light citrus zest, grass, and herbal spiciness. Good amount of spicy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of light fruits, cracker, bread, light nuttiness, pine, citrus, pepper, floral, grass, and herbal spiciness on the finish for a good bit. Good balance and complexity of flavors with big hoppiness; fair amount of malt balance; and a fair amount of cloying spicy pine bitterness after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a fairly creamy, slick, and crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Definitely a sipper with all of the intense hop flavors. Overall this is a nice imperial pilsner. Good flavor complexity and solid balance; and quite smooth to sip on. I enjoyed this quite a bit, despite the cloying hop bitterness.
