A genre-blending mix of an American wheat beer and a traditional India Pale Ale. Encore is hopped and dry-hopped with Simcoe and Amarillo hops, and has a pleasant grapefruit aroma that compliments its subtly sweet malty backbone. Grab a lighter and get up front!

Reviewed from a 12 oz. can in a variety pack
Appearance: Unfiltered translucent medium amber, very thin long-lasting frothy near-white head, thin rings of lacing
Aroma: Faint grapefruit, but strong malty backbone
Taste/Flavor: Oddly flavored. Very complex mix of wheat malts and hops. Hard to describe flavors
Mouthfeel: Medium-heavy feel, tingly carbonation. Finishes more smooth than dry, but somehow off-set by fruitiness
Overall: A strange blend of wheat beer and India pale ale. Available only occasionally in various Magic Hat variety/sampler paks. One of Magic Hat's "Reclusive Rarities" brewed whenever they feel like it.

12 oz can. "Selections from the vault"
A wheat ipa.
A very hazy, gold and orange color and a clumpy, frothy foam cap, 2" for a long time lots of bubbly clumps and thicl lacing leftover.
The nose has an obvious blend of tangy dry golden wheat, deep herbs and spice combo, peppery red fruits and light, grainy malted barley. The combo of wheat malt and earthy toned, but mostly sweet fruit based hops make for a very nice aromatic impact.
A light, crispy bite hits you first, which features the wheat malt kick and earthy bitter side of the hops. Tangy fruits, sour and dry notes from the wheat with tropical juice and herbal notes fly around later. The balance of wheat grain and earthy but fruity hops is spot-on. A well executed blend of two worlds.
This is easily one of my all time favorite Magic Hat elixers.

4 magic hat ipa’s side by side. 1 Electric Peel, 2 Encore (odd notion, wheat), 3 Lucky Kat, 4 HIPA. Encore is smooth. Wheat balances the sharp ipa flavors. Taste and Aroma are pleasant , but not very strong. Ok."
