12oz standard brown bottle,capped. Beautiful reddish-amber in color with a good size off white head. Great smell of spicy hops and pepper. Some malt but mostly pine and hops.

Taste is solid as well. The spicy pine hops keep going all the way through. Very clean overall and tremendously easy to drink. Malt backbone is there but subtle.

This is how I like my Red Ales to be. They must have a solid hop profile and this one stands up. Again, very easy to drink and I would buy this in the six pack format. This one came in a 12 pack variety mix.

Appearance: Deep copper in color, with a moderate off-white head, which retains well. The lacing is thick and glass-coating.

Aroma: Abundant caramel malt and a moderate pine hop presence.

Taste: Opens with a strong flavor of caramel malt, with an odd, slightly tangy note, seemingly a touch acidic. As the taste progresses, toasted malt notes appear, although the sourness remains in the background. Finishes with a lingering, mild sweetness.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and pleasant, with no hint of carbonation.

Drinkability/notes: A very decent red ale, its a pity that it is no longer made.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce brown glass long-neck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
