Notes:
In pre-Christian times, the celebration of darkness and light was marked with great halls filled with smoke & mirrors. Guilded goblets brimming with seasonal brews were lifted to lips, speaking a language no longer known. The winter wind finds its way through heavy wood doors. The present connects the past through the brewer's art and a new beer is born: Feast of Fools... A perfect dessert beer brewed exclusively for the holiday season.

2009 or 2010 bottle. Unsure.
A - Very dark with two or three fingers of mocha head that slowly dissipates and leaves a bit behind.
S - Sweet with lots of raspberry. Some roasted malts present.
T- The raspberry still has a lot of presence in this, but it's balanced out nicely with roasty malts and hints of chocolate and coffee. Sweet, but not overwhelmingly so.
M - Light to medium bodied with little carbonation. Surprised how light bodied this is.
This is one I've wanted to try for a while. It's very nice though a bit lighter than I'd like. I'd be interested to try this beer fresh. Wish this was easier to get.

Serving Type - poured from a 22oz bottle into a tulip glass.
Appearance - deep brown coloration with what appear to be reddish tints when under light. Two finger head which was a creamy brown color.
Smell - Has a strong raspberry and malt smell
Taste - Not as much raspberry flavor as expected but still quite sweet and has a bit of a jam-ish flavor. A bitter taste creeps in on the tongue towards the middle of the sip and a raspberry flavor lingers on the tongue along with malty undertones.
Mouthfeel - Very mild carbonation and a biting feeling towards the back of the mouth and tongue.
Overall - Good beer, great due to its seasonal taste. Wouldn't be a consistent buy for me personally, but a nice treat during a Nor'easter snow storm!

Random find in Norwalk, CT - last bottle on shelf, no price, not in system - sold to me for $5! Awesome!!!
I have no idea when this was bottled...but it looks different than photo . Poured from caged bottle into shaker glass. Pours a black color with thick off white head...great cherry/raspberry and roasted bitter malt aromas. Taste is awesome. Sour cherry and bitter black malts, roasted, and full bodied. This is a great sour brew...although im not sure if it supposed to be. Nice balance of sour fruit and roasted malts...I really liked this one.

A massive thanks to my friend Rob for grabbing me a Humdinger of this at the brewery. The beer poured out as a deep black looking liquid with a nice light brown head on top. The head settles quickly not really leaving a lacing or anything on the glass. The smell of the beer is rather impressive. The aromas of Chocolate and raspberry mix really well together here with a the roasted malts. The taste of the beer is sweet with the fruit flavors bursting out upfront fading into the bitter dark chocolate notes in the finish. The mouthfeel isn't as heavy as I was hoping for, I thought this beer could be much thicker and oily feeling. Overall I found it to be a good brew, I would drink it again if given the opportunity too.

Enjoyed in a pint glass
A: pours a pitch black color with a thin finger of creamy mocha brown colored head that lingers for just a short period of time, leaves
S: smells a lot like chocolate raspberry candys which is a very pleasant scent
T: begins with a nice chocolate note which then slips into a very zesty raspberry note which combines with the chocolate notes to linger on the palate for a bit after
M: medium carbonation tingle, very thin on the palate, really not much more to comment on
O: a pretty tastey beer, not overwhelming on either the chocolate or raspberry notes, pretty well done, generally i dont like beers from magic hat because they all seem to have a bit of an off taste note to it but this one is pretty solidly put together
