I had this beer on-tap at WABL Belgianfest 2013 in a snifter taster glass.

Appearance: medium-dark reddish-brown hue with a fair amount of haze and an indiscernible effervescence from the murk. Head is a thin layer of ivory foam. Attractive!

Smell: bright caramel aroma; tart, sweet, and a nice sugary character. It's a tart and sweet combination not unlike a Jolly Rancher, but in a good way. A well-balanced and well-executed example of the style.

Taste: bright, delicious flavor; caramelly, tart and smooth. There is, unfortunately, a bit of buttery diacetyl here which I do not particularly like. In this case, it happens to blend relatively well with the other tart and sweet components, but I would have vastly preferred it without the butteriness.

Mouthfeel: light body with a good carbonation and a really frothy, busy, refreshing effervescence. Not really creamy but entertaining.

Overall: mostly a very good beer, but personally I really don't like the diacetyl component.
