Part of my LetsPour pacific NW IPA mixed pack. Pours a light golden color, 1/2" white head, nice floral hop smell. Taste is on the light bodied side... alright mouthfeel. A bit bitter and too on the hops side. Maybe I'm biased because I had the fantastic India Pelican Ale last night, but that one blows this one out of the water. Not a bad beer by any means.. but a pretty standard IPA that could use some work to hang with the big boys.

Pretty pour. Rich amber, good white head, decent retention.

Not a particularly memorable aroma. Some bread malt, some citrus hops, some mint almost?

Hmm... I have a hard time pinning the flavour down. There's elements of citrus rind spice, some earthiness, some mint even.
Lightly carbonated, it's smoothe and drinkable.
An interesting IPA. In this current era of super hoppy NW IPAs, it doesn't stand out in that regard, but it is tasty. I think people would see it more favourably if it said APA than IPA, which just speaks to peoples preconceptions. It's a solid, enjoyable beverage, just not on par with some of the world class IPAs that can come out of the area

Bottle opened on 9.24.12.

A - Pours a very cloudy dark orange with a 1/2 inch light tan head with good retention.

S - Lots of orange citrus and malts.

T - Orange, mint, malt, carmel, but all pretty mild.

D - Lower carbonation and a medium body.

O - Muted and balanced. Not bad, but not great at all.

Poured from 22oz bomber into a pint glass.

Appearance: rich orange hue with a touch of haze to the body and an attractive effervescence. Head is a thick finger of frothy ivory foam with a bit of an orange cast. Quite appealing.

Smell: interesting aroma of sweet malt and floral, soapy hops. There's also a hint of resiny character under the floral which is nice.

Taste: very interesting hop combination, with flavors ranging from piney and citrusy to earthy and floral. Malt sweetness provides a mere backbone for the big hop flavors, and though bitterness is somewhat high, it's not overpowering. I like it.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation. Creamier than most IPAs; I like it.

Overall: this is a tasty and interesting IPA which I would be glad to have again. Once again, Silver City makes a very good everyday kind of beer.

22 oz bottle that was sent to me by friends that live just down the street from the brewery! Poured a deep orange with nice off white head and moderate lacing. Smells of piney orange rinds(delicious). Taste is spot on to smell with a grainy toasted background which equals a super smooth and very drinkable ipa. Maybe not as hop foreword as some but that can be a good thing. Perfect carbonation out of this bottle that lasted the session. Gracious Adlers for the hook up.

A - Bright copper color, hazy and effervescent, with dense cream colored head and some nice lacing.

S - Sublte but distinct notes of citrus (lemon rind and a hint of grapefruit) and pine with sweet malt.

T - Hop forward with a smooth meld of pine sap and citrus rinds. Toasted grains lays a nice bed for the hops to float above. Bitterness is present but held well in check.

M - Moderate body which hangs just short of "coating." Carbonation is very nice with an abundance of tiny champagne-like bubbles.

O - A nice standard IPA. Very easy drinking and enjoyable. I'd call it an every day IPA if it were readily available.

Pours a brilliant copper with a slight off-white head that dissipates quickly.

Piney aroma that's not strong but very noticeable.

Hits with a bit of bitterness but is well balanced with caramel and toffee notes and a touch of malt sweetness followed by a nice bitter aftertaste.

Finishes dry, with a higher side of carbonation, and overall creamy kind of mouthfeel.

I really like this brew. The perceived bitterness is higher than what Silver City says (55 IBU) and it is very well balanced and highly quaffable. I could switch a clone of this with my house IPA (Stone) and not be disappointed at all.

Appearance. Pours a hazy orange-gold with almost a finger of just off-white head that leaves some nice lacing.

Smell. Toasty grains and citrus hops.

Taste. Nice citrus fruits and rinds, toasted grains, some bitterness but nothing excessive.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with medium-low carbonation.

Overall. Nice easy drinking ipa. Was surprised to read the abv is this high.

Served in straight pint glass. Poured a lightly hazy light gold color with less than 1/4 inch of white head that had moderate retention and good lacing.

The aroma was certainly hop forward, in the PNW style, but had a nicely satisfying malt scent too. Mostly citrus, with a few floral notes in the background. On the tongue, this beer was, again, a typical PNW IPA, nice malt foundation, but the bold citrus hops are clearly the star.

The body was fuller than a lot of the style, and pretty close to what I like in an IPA, but a lot of folks seem to like a thinner IPA. Drinkability was good, this beer is almost the equal of my favorite local IPA (Skagit River's The Gospel) in this aspect. Overall, a very nice brew that I hope SC puts into their yearly release schedule. Worth seeking out.

NOTE: I had tried this beer at a couple of fests, including Caskfest, but had figured I wouldn't get a shot at a reviewable amount, given the beers limited release status. I'm very happy that some bottles made it up to tha 'ham. Also, a friend of mine is a Captain in the BFD, so any brew that benefits firefighters gets mad love from me.

Normally I wouldn't bother to review this, especially as it's a "one off" made to benefit firefighters of Washington, and very limited. Except this also happens to be a very, very tasty IPA.

On tap at E9 today.

The beer pours an orange amber color with good head retention and lacing. The nose on this beer is just great, showcasing orange citrus, cherry, light pine, and something of an evergreen aroma. The flavor profile replicates the nose, and I love the dry, West Coast style in this IPA. There is enough malt flavor (cherry mostly) to counter the considerable hoppy bitterness, but this beer is quite dry and bitter on the finish... refreshingly so. Mouthfeel is light to medium and a bit lean, but it works well with this beer, especially with the relatively low alcohol. Drinkability is great in this beer.. had no problem whatsoever drinking this down at the E9.

Really liked this and wouldn't mind Silver City making this part of the regular line-up. Much as I like the Whoop Pass, this is the better beer in my book. Very nice stuff...
