Pours brown with a large, fading head.
Nose shows rich toasty melanoidin malt, very sweet and syrupy. Not complex but pleasant.
Very similar flavours, lots of toasty and syrupy malt.
Body seems a bit thick and oily, could use more carbonation.
A bit plain but still enjoyable.

Pours clear redwood with a stiff full-fat cream head that fades fast but leaves some trailers. Burnt caramel and old wood on the nose.
Candy apple and red currant malts with some leaf, a roasty hit in the middle and tobacco hops with an EKG twinkle. Brown sugar and berry end, dry linger. Lively, light-medium, some chew.
Based on the ubiquity of McFarland's in Greece, I'm guessing this is an Irish red rather than an American Amber.
And it's not a good one - a straight Smithwick's clone that's only decent, with too much ash and toffee. Surprisingly dry, but not worth seeking.

A red orange clear brew with an off-white head that leaves little lacing.
The smell is very malty, cereal and caramel, some fruitiness, raisins.
The taste is sweet and sour, fruits like green apples, oranges and a whiff of sherry. Very little bitterness.
Rather much carbonation, a bit watery.
Not the greatest red ale, a bit to sweet and flat.

Poured into 330mL tulip glass from the tap at the Craft brewpub in Athens Greece.
A: The beer is a rich pure red color with one finger of off white head with good retention.
S: Great hoppiness coming through in the nose immediately. Grapefruit and light pine. Some sweet fruitiness also present - berries.
T: Clean on the intro. After such a good aroma, the taste is somewhat subdued. Midpalate is lightly fruity with a bitter piney taste. Finish lightly bitter with some grapefruit or other citrus. Mal character is very light, if any at all. Some light bread?
Overall: Crisp and medium bodied beer with good flavors, but very subtle. A solid beer.

Pours reddish brown with slightly off-white head, some downsliding lacing. Aroma is caramel with bits of dried prunes.
Taste is clean malt balanced with slightly piney hops and what seems like hints of lemongrass in the long lasting bittery aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation.
Overall, good and simple beer, more complex flavour could be desired.

One of four beers on tap from this brewery offered at a habour side bar in Chania, Crete.
Poured into a vase shapped brewery logo'ed glass. It was a glowing reddy brown colour in the afternoon sunlight, clear and clean looking. A smallish cream head sat on top.
The beer was cold (the weather hot), so it was difficult to pick up any huge aromas. I did detect some caramel and possibly some hops too.
The caramel I'd found in the aroma came through into the taste, but it wasn't a sweet tasting beer by any means.
Crisp and refreshing with a medium body feel to it.
Although it was just what I needed at the time, it wasn't/isn't a great beer that i must have again. In fact i didn't have another one while staying on Crete, so that tells it's own story.

A - Dark Red-Amber, good clarity, and substantial head
S - Malty Sweetness, prunes, cherries, and some nice hop aroma.
T - Clean hop flavors with subdued bitterness that balances nicely with the malt sweetness.
M - Appropriate carbonation, medium bodied, with a clean lingering aftertaste.
This is a well made beer, it achieves a great balance between malt and hops and is cleanly fermented.
