This beer poured a deep, deep brown a tint away from pitch black with a thick, creamy head with lace that almost totally obscured the glass. Nose was of sweet, dark malts with subtle spiciness. Medium-bodied with an intial impressive of tannic astringency it quickly smoothed into a silky, smooth mouthfeel. More baking spices than pumpkin was apparent until the finish where a hint came through. This porter is also agressively hopped for the style. Not overbearing but definitely some Hallertau or the like to cut the sweetness. Very nice try at a unique combination.

Draught @ Brew Pub: Also known as "Snowball's Chance", as this is what they said the chance of brewing again would be. This was very good. This was the first time that I have someone take a seasonal pumpkin and make the base a porter. It pours an opaque brown with a small tan head. The nose is that of pumpkin spice. Also weak notes of roastiness and chocolate. Very robust malty beer, with taste of the pumpkin spices also. An excellent choice!
