Luckily, it's close to my hotel, walking distance. Store front location, renovated to accommodate a large taproom/ restaurant. Nice vibe, nice menu. 12 taps, nice variety. Great service. Come for a meal and get a beer.

Visited during the week for lunch.
Don't let the front fool you. Very open, well lit and inviting inside with a nice crowd and friendly service. Go to the back patio to eat and take in views of the river. Lots of locals hitting the place for lunch and a few retirees. More of a local/towny vide than a craft beer bar, but everyone was there to drink the beer. Food was above average. Kitchen was slow even though the place was half empty. Beers well done, with a good variety across the inhouse selections.

Stopped in to grab a couple beers and some food on my way back from VT. Nice looking place, some seating just inside the initial entrance, the bar area is just beyond that. Ordered a couple beers and some food, both were pretty good. The service was friendly too. Overall a decent place, nothing mind blowing but not a bad spot if you're in the area.

From hazy, juicy NEIPAs to barrel aged sours and everything in between, Brown's Brewing produces and cans amazing beers to match their two awesome taprooms (converted 150+ year old factory buildings). Authenticity meets delicious experimentation.

Spacious indoor restaurant with full food menu, big horseshoe bar, and pleasant back porch with a nice metro river view. Good beer selection of decent beers.

Brown's is an ace pitcher: guaranteed to be a winner every time you venture to Troy. Serenely located on the banks of the Hudson River, you can sip on a variety of different styles as you watch the boats cruise by. What I love about this place is it's combinations; it is a neighborhood brewpub with regulars, but also inviting to outsiders; it has reliable standard-bearer beers, but innovative one-and-dones. They were wise to let their young brewers experiment in the old brewery because now anytime you visit you're guaranteed to have at least six new beers to sample. Brown's should update their tagline from "Dependable Ales & Lagers" to "Dependable & Eclectic".

Stopped here for a repeat visit. On our first visit (a Friday night) it was jam packed. We only sampled appetizers and drank at the outside bar. The apps that we had were good. This time we made a lunch trip while visiting RPI. The ambiance is good: I love using these old brick buildings for things like brewpubs. I never get tired of being in a place like this. Service was excellent. We had sandwiches for lunch. My wife had the French Dip, which she said it was one of the best she ever had. My Hickory Chicken was top notch. The beers are pretty good too. Worth a stop!

Went here for lunch. Had 3 little kids with me and the wife. Staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the beers. Tried a flight with all 7 beers they had on tap. All were good, nothing crazy just typical basic styles (eg Brown, IPA, cream, oatmeal stout..) well balanced. I'm a hophead so I was disappointed but understand that's not what they are about.
Overall, good food, service, and average beers. They also seem very locally oriented which I can appreciate.

visited later on a Friday night for some drinks. I have been here in the past for a couple of concerts and a banquet.
they've got a two story dining area, then a big bar in the back, then a deck with more tables. that night they had a band playing outside in the nice weather, with a view of the Hudson River.
The beer is good, but nothing special or creative. They probably had about 10 beers on tap, across standard styles. Bartenders were fine.
