I was visiting relatives in Somerset and stumbled upon this place by happenstance. Not a bad place at all. The coolers are chock-ful of decent beers, beginning with your 24oz. Belgians and migrating to interesting German beers to your American macro crap at the end of the aisle. I found a Kelpie here and a few local brews that I haven't seen in a good many places. I don't know the area, but my guess is that this store is the best one around for people who like good beer. I was impressed. It probably won't have any "wow" effect on many folks, but it was a pleasant surprise and completely unexpected. The one down side to this place is that they don't have many singles to just try out. I resent having to pay for a six pack when I only want to try just one beer.

I go here all the time because it has a decent selection of craft brews and Belgians in six-packs and bombers, and also because I live nearby. They don't really have anything too outrageous but there are always plenty to choose from. They have shelves of warm bottles you can build a six pack out of if you are going for a variety or want to try a beer without having to buy a six pack of it. The service here has been really great. I've also ordered several kegs and have never been disappointed. Strangely they always have plenty of Blanche de Namur, which I have not seen anywhere besides Amsterdam, including Oaktree Buyrite in South Plainfield which usually has everything. Way to go Cedar Grove!

This is the best beer shop Somerset has to offer.
The store is very clean and organized. They have all the usual micros and macros. They have singles.
The singles are expensive.
The staff is very attentive, however, only a few are knowledgable.
I like this store mainly because it is close to my house and they usually have something interesting for me to try. It is also the only place in Somerset, that I know of, that I can get my Tremons fix.
Worth stopping in if you are passing by, but not worth seeking out.

Q: This store is actually pretty small. It is very clean and organized. Stopped by because I pass every day.
Ser: The service was fine enough. The people were very nice, left me be, and answered any questions I had. They seemed more into macros than micros though.
Sel: Was decent. Had the usual macros and micros..nothing super extraordinary. They did have their micros in singles though, which is always nice to see.
V: The singles were really pricey tho!
Probably won't be back unless I'm in a pinch.

This is a small, local liquor store with a pretty good selection of microbrew beers for its size. They keep six packs in the cooler and have a shelf where you can mix and match different styles and brands (the beers from this shelf will be warm). They also carry many local NJ microbrews, such as Flying Fish, Heavyweight, and High Point Brewing Co's.
The people who work at the store are very friendly and always willing to help, though their beer knowledge is average. Overall, a good place to stop if you happen to be in the area.

I drive by this shop every day to and from work. I stop by on the way home sometimes and I find that for a small local stored, this shop has a good selection. I particularly like the seasonal selections as well as the individual bottles and 750mls. I also like how the standard beers are located at the far end of the cooler and keeps the good stuff up front.
Quality: good, no complaints as of yet.
Service: average, nothing outstanding. Sometimes there is some eye candy behind the register.
Selection: above average

I like this place because it is one of the only stores around where you can make your own six pack. For $8, you can build a six pack from a wide selection of locals (Flying Fish, River Horse), regionals (Brooklyn, Sam Adams, Victory, Smuttynose, Troegs), west coast (Bert Grant, Sierra Nevada), and imports(Spaten, DAB, Hacker-Pschorr). In the coolers, there are lots of six packs, and a nice selection of Belgian Singles, like Orval, Chimay, St. Berndardus, Unibroue, Dupont, Kwak, Triple Karmeliet, and more.
In the three or four times Ive been here, I havent needed any help, but there service seems to be fine. Prices are a little higher than average. There is nothing here that you cant find anywhere else, but still a good selection.
