Apparently this is whiskey barrel aged blend of the following:
Great Lakes 25th Anniversary Robust Porter
Beau's Beaver River IP'Eh
Flying Monkeys Smash Bomb
Grand River Curmudgeon IPA
Poured in to Great Lakes snifter.
A - Poured medium brown and settled dark brown. Opaque. Half a finger of brown head formed and reduced to a ring around the glass.
S - Big barrel characteristics up front with lots of oak and whiskey. Some roast and chocolate are present as well. No noticeable IPA qualities.
T - Whiskey up front with some oak. Lighter notes of roast and chocolate in the middle. The whiskey returns in the finish with some vanilla. Very woody. The barrel completely dominates the base beers.
M - Medium body, slightly creamy. Moderate carbonation.
O - Not enough from the base beer to make this interesting. It was almost all barrel. It was almost nearly impossible to pick out any characteristics from the 3 IPAs in the blend.

Bottle into GLB tulip.
Special thanks to TheSevenDuffs for this. I have a soft spot for barrel aged beers, collaboration beers and anything from The Flying Monkeys (true Homer I guess)
A- Totally opaque black pour, inky and viscous. A booming three plus finger foamy light tan head. Slowly deflates and leaves gobs of sticky lacing.
S- Roasted coffee, dark chocolate, some sour mash from the whiskey barrels. It quickly shifts to juicy with some grapefruit and mandarin in the background. There is some burnt toast and barrel char as well.
T- Dark chocolate, dark roasted malts, a nice sour mash whiskey before it turns juicy and bitter from the 3 IPA in there. There is some molasses and brown sugar in the finish.
M- Heavier side of medium body. Decent carbonation, slightly sticky on the lips.
O- I really enjoy this, I read Marcus' review of this and was worried prior to opening this. Realizing his review was almost two months ago it is remarkable to see the difference just that little bit of time made. Really glad I got to try this! Thanks Marcus!
