On tap at Volo, Great Lakes/Mike Lackey feature. Into a tulip.

Poured a darker red-orange, that danced in the light, showing off some similar colours in the process. Collar of head remains, a provides sheets of lacing in the glass. Nose of peaches, passionfruit, yeast, lightly toasted dry wheat and a general mustiness. Taste has a medicinal side to it (hops?), grassy, some wet hay and more of the tropical fruits again. Hefty medium carbonation, good mouthfeel with a dry finish that doesn't linger long. Good drink and well put together I thought.

Serving type: on-tap

Hazy, dirty straw, off-white head, good retention & lace.

S: Lemon grass, sponge toffee, candied pineapple and hints of leather. Great stuff.

T: Sponge toffee, lemon grass, tropical fruit/pineapple, nectarine, biscuity, light phenols provide a pleasant spicing, balanced bitterness, alcohol is subtle, though given the flavour & body I would have thought it was a stronger brew.

M: Moderate body (not as crisp & dry as one might expect), extremely smooth with a light acidity.

D: Overall a good beer, plenty of depth to the flavour and an easy drinker.

On tap at Volo. Saison yeast smell. A story in pepper. I was getting the black pepper, not balanced, interesting. Not so drinkable, average mouthfeel. There are many better examples of this style.First tone down the pepper, then let some flavours show themselves.
