Project X cask beer sampled at Chancey Smith's in London, ON. Chestnut brown in colour with three fingers of bubbly beige head and drapes of lacing down the shaker. Smell and taste are dark roasted malts, pumpernickel rye bread, alcohol, prune juice, brown sugar, and bold, fruity, and bitter C hops. Warming liquor in the finish. A Stone style eisbock that pushes the boundaries of the style. Excellent beer, but the ABV kicked my ass after a while!

Deep dark murky brown. pours an inch of mocha froth. Nose of concentrated prune has a blast of C-hops, with dark bread, herbs, burnt sugar, almost roasty, with spices.Flavour profile matches in every way. Lots of pit fruit with a huge hop component that is not for the faint of heart. Deeply rooted bready flavours are almost roasty. There is some spice here but the hops cover it up and I'm not upset about that. Creamy, bitter as hell, dangerously drinkable at almost 10%. These guys at Great Lakes are fucking crazy! Fantastic!
