Style | ABV
American Amber / Red Ale |  7.90% ABV

Availability: Winter. bottle (114), on-tap (12), growler (1)

Notes:
Brewed to celebrate 100 years of the oldest hiking trail in North America, the Long Trail. This ale features a slightly sweet malt flavor delicately balanced by the use of centennial hops. This bigger beer goes down smooth, please indulge with moderation.

Our Imperial Red Ale has the traditional characteristics of a red ale with the addition of an ample amount of hops and a higher grain bill that yields more sugars during the brewing process; resulting in a higher ABV.

Served in a pint glass.

Appearance: A transparent dark amber, an off-white to light orange head is thin... maybe an 1/8" of an inch off the body.

Smell: Bland, I pick up light malts brief scent of hops.

Taste: Bitter caramel, it does have an off-sweet feel to it. I like the malts but it lacks complexity.

Mouth: Medium carbonation, not hard to drink at all.

Overall: not a bad beer, but not in the category of greatness. It is well finished and makes you feel that you wish you had kettle corn popcorn while you were drinking this. Lightly sweet and easy to drink. Salud!

22 oz bottle. Pours dark red with a short lived white head. Aroma is of citrusy, piney hops, caramel malt and ripe fruit. Body is full and crisp. Piney hops, caramel, citrus fruit and cherry combine on the palate. Finish is long and dry. Well done brew.

This beer pours a beautiful deep mahogany brownish red, with a small lightly frothed head. Really interesting sharp smell on the pour - slightly sweet with just a small amount of dark chocolate. The taste is really bold with a good amount of body, I get some dark chocolate and then some slightly sour tanginess, almost citrusy, with a very tangy finish. Really interesting flavor in this beer, not sure I've ever had anything like it before. High attenuation taste however, which is why I give this beer a low score - also the tangy taste also slightly reminds me of red vinegar.

Bought a 22oz bomber of this for $5.99.

Pours a dark reddish brown. Not much head to it, sweet aroma. Taste is medium bodied, huge caramel sweetness upfront, followed by the centennial hops and a great maltiness. Super tasty and smooth, the 8% abv is well hidden. Finishes clean... this is a fantastic beer, well balanced and very tasty!
