Bought this with the intention of not knowing anything about it.. heh. Anyway, poured a dark, dark brown with a chocolate and vanilla ice-cream head. Reduced to a nice slick with delectable bubbles floating to the surface. A rich earthy nose with plenty of coffee and sweet brown sugar flavors abound. The taste was a slight indistinct with just slight flavors of coffee and bitter. Not a great deal of flavor, but certainly a nice swill for a late afternoon. Good snag in Portland, but not amazing.

Served in a snifter glass.

Appearance: Deep dark brown/black coming off completely opaque. Bubbles light on the body considering the rise of the head. Tan head rose to about 1/4" with a gentle pour.

Smell: Light coffee but seriously pretty irresistible.

Taste: Smooth coffee, though advertised as a coffee stout I was definitely expecting a deep espresso which didn't exactly happened. More creamier and chocolatey.

Mouth: Average medium carbonation, not exactly as sticky but very smooth compared to most stouts out on the market.

Overall: Picked this up in substitution to one of my favorite coffee stouts and though not as "good" as what I preferred still a quality brew. All you need is a glass and maybe a friend to share it with. Salud!
