Notes:
Triple Bag is brewed in a small batch from single infusion that uses only the first runnings of the mash. The result is a brew made from only the purest part of the grains, providing a uniquely rich and dense flavor, with an aroma reminiscent of the finest dessert wines. This brew is naturally carbonated and is an example of brewing purity that is rarely experienced by those other than brewers themselves.

I was expecting a little more from this, tastes like other triples. Has a dark orange color with almost no head, smells of raisins. Tastes like a barley wine, grapes and raisin with a lingering sweetness. Little carbonation and medium bodied, slightly warming from the high alcohol content. Drinks rather easy though.
Don't let the score I gave fool you, it was good, but I just can't see myself having more than one at a time

This Long Trail "altbier" does not deliver on the palate.
I'll skip most of the descriptives and get down to the basics. This ale just does not deliver the taste of many altbiers you can purchase today. It has a great mouthfeel, a pleasant appearance but has a bite to it that is not attractive in combination with its malt backing.
Perhaps it would be a good "food" beer. Maybe some sweet sausages or braunschweiger would balance out the edges of this ale.

Poured from a twelve ounce bottle into a pint glass.
Pours dark brown, very little foam. Nutty. Candi sugar nose. Sweet. Syrup too. Strong astringent taste, puckering. Really boozy. Woody. Harsh aftertaste. Thick mouthfeel. Hearty.
Yuck. Frankly, quite hard to drink. And high ABV kicks you around for your trouble. Not my thing.

A-a slightly hazy dark amber with a thing layer of white head that quickly disappears to leave a bit of lace
S-Smell is very sweet and a little boozy. Rum soaked raisins, caramel, light chocolate and brown sugar.
T-the taste is not as sweet as the smell would suggest. Caramel malt, grapes, raisins, and bitter hops
M-medium body, medium carbonation, and a slightly syrupy sweet finish
Overall a touch boozier and sweeter than Double Bag, but I think I like Triple Bag better

A: Dark reddish brown, cloudy, with a tight head and lots of lacing.
S: Sharp alcohol cuts through most everything else.
T: Thick breadiness that reminds me of pumpernickel for some reason. Sherry-like sweetness, but not too cloying. A touch of herbal bitterness on the finish. The booze comes through.
M: Full, soft, not sticky.
O: Too sweet and boozy to want another. In fact, I'm not even eager to finish my first. I generally prefer Double Bag.
