It is a real shame that this beer was retired. I was lucky enough to drink plenty of them while they were around. Like another reviewer has said, this beer tastes and smells EXACTLY like circus peanuts. That may not sound appealing to many at first, but I assure you that it was delicious. I don't even like circus peanuts, but I loved this beer and its unique taste.

This has been the weirdest tasting beer I have ever had. I am sad that it is retired just because I think everyone should have the chance to experience drinking a beer that smells and tastes exactly like circus peanuts. Circus peanuts as in the gummy, squishy, fake-banana tasting candy that always ended up in my Easter basket, even though I can imagine anyone ever choosing to eat them. I was not a fan of circus peanut beer, but trying it was definitely an experience. If you missed out on trying this beer you could just find a bag of circus peanuts and you can imagine it.

Average hefeweizen. I wasn't blown away but I also wasn't disappointed. The citrus notes are definitely very strong and delicious.
Smells like a hefe should, but nothing spectacular. The color and appearance was quite good, and it really felt good on the tongue.
Definitely drinkable, but the bar where I got it has so many other good beers on tap, I doubt I'll return to this one quickly.

12oz bottle weisse-poured into a wizen glass. Didn't realize this brew had been retired till now!
Pours a nice light golden cloudy color with a huge fluffy and sticky head. Nose is sweet, yeasty and a bit wheaty. Some banana notes as well.
Woo! Taste is like a runt banana! Very strong and upfront with this, a bit sweet and somewhat thick and sharp. Mouthfeel is good for a weizen.
This was the first wheat beer I ever had back in my freshman year of college and I loved this stuff, coming back to it is very refreshing! Sad to see this is being retired!

Thanks to kingcrowing for this extra.
Pours a slightly hazy golden with plenty of carbonation bubbles and a 2-finger head. Minimal lacing.
The smell is overwhelmingly fresh bananas with slight clove & yeast scents. Taste is wheat, yeast, bananas, cloves & some bitter/sour lemon. Mouthfeel is rather carbonated but surprisingly heavier than I expected.
This is a drinkable hefe. The banana qualities are strong, and I like that but it's to the detriment of other nice hefe characteristics.

A- Poured into a weizen glass... yellowish color with a thick bubbly head that recedes slowly. Beer appears to be somewhat active... no lacing
S- Smells sweet and fruity... maybe a hint of banana bread smell
T- Not as sweet as the smell leads you to believe... has some banana flavor as well as some citrus. Has a nice clean taste the whole way through
M- Light bodied, light carbonation... smooth
D- Not the best hefe, but very drinkable... specially good summer beer
CHEERS!!

Pours hazy yellow, with a small head that quickly disintegrates into nothingness. No head retention at all. Not very Hefeweizen-like so far. I'm picking up a lot of clove in the aroma. The banana is faint. The aroma is actually pretty good - previously when I heard people describe clove in the aroma of a hefe, I wasn't quite sure what they meant, but I am picking it up on this beer. But the banana is more like some artificial flavor, like when you make banana flavor in organic chemistry lab. The taste isn't great, kind of a muddled banana flavor with a weird twang in the finish. The alcohol is not very well hidden for a 5% beer. Ok, by now the appearance is really terrible. It looks like a glass full of apple cider. The mouthfeel is also not great - thin, prickly, and astringent. Still, I would say this beer is drinkable...if someone else was buying.

12 oz bottle.
Pours a hazy honey gold with a tint of orange from the light. Has a slightly coarse white head that dissipates to a film.
Smells of malts and wheat. Not as sweet or citrusy as other hefes.
Tastes smooth and lemony with good fresh wheat tones. Not especially complex but the tastes fit together well.
Feels smooth and moderate in terms of body. Not especially carbonated.
A nice hefe, probably one of my favorites that I've had in the style. East to drink and easy to session on a warm day.

Pours a hazy straw yellow color. The smell is of wheat and some lemon as well, not a strong smell but a nice decent aroma. The taste of the beer is some and refreshing with wheat up front and lemon coming through at the back. The mouthfeel is smooth and very lightly carbonated. The drinkability is good, this is a slightly above average beer for the category.

On tap at the brewery in Bridgewater Corners this beer was a cloudy gold color with some tangerine highlights and a good amount of rising carbonation. The two finger head displayed very good retention as a thin layer and streaky lacing. The aroma was of wheat, citrus, crystal malt and lemon zest. The flavors were very citrusy with wheat as well, hints of banana from the Belgian yeast, a background of crystal malt and a light bitterness at the end. Refreshing and balanced. The mouthfeel was slightly watery, the body medium and the carbonation good.
