This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking semi-dark hazy burnt amber to red color with a foamy and bubbly head that dissipated within less than about forty seconds leaving a foamy and bubbly white head that clung nicely. The smell started off with a sharp sweet toasty caramel embracing a nice semi-sharp sweet and spicy rye to blend. Crisp light breadiness blends into balance appropriately. The taste was moderately sweet carrying a light spice of the rye into the full flavor and on into the aftertaste and then into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly smooth allowing a gentle creaminess to impart on my tongue. Overall, I dig it. Long Trail took a dying style and gave it a new "kick." I’d have again.

Bottle from the mixed 12 pack from Market Basket.
Deep copper color with a good sized long lasting off white head. Aromas of spice and toffee and caramel with just a touch of earthy hop. Sweet bready light caramel burnt sugar maltiness with just a hint of resin and spice. Pretty tasty ESB.

Copper color. Drank from a Vermont goblet I found. Awesome taste. Slightly spicy and malty. This was the perfect beer for a cool spring night. Would also be great for a fall night. I love what the people at Long Trail do. This is another winner.
