I made a trip to the Wine Smith a few month's back, and I was not disappointed. I'm planning on another trip in October. Dennis, the owner, was super friendly, helpful, and courteous to a fault, and has been everytime I've contacted him. He was even open past closing time. This was my second trip to a homebrew store, and his selection satisfied my needs. I've also corresponded via e-mail and Dennis has even offered to hold items. It's a bit of a drive for me, but it's worth it. He splits the store between beer and wine supplies, and the inventory was well organized. Again, I have to give props to the Wine Smith. If you are a local homebrewer, give this place some business.

I’ve only recently begun homebrewing (I have my second batch in the primary as I type this), but this place was a big help. I got all my equipment here as well as some good advice. The prices seemed reasonable and the selection was adequate. Although, I must confess that this is the only homebrew shop I’ve ever been to, so take that with a grain of salt.

One thing I really like is the honesty the owner showed. Every time I’d ask him something like “Is this deluxe version worth the price difference?” he’d say nah and recommend something else, usually cheaper. That’s a good sign he’s in it for the long term IMHO.

This is everything you could want in a little homebrew shop. The selection is very good. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable (they are a couple – the wife handles the homemade wine side more and the husband usually is the one to talk to about beer). I’ve sat and picked Dennis’s brain about recipes and help often – he’s even helped me over the phone when I needed technical advice. If they don’t have what you are looking for, they will go out of their way to find it when possible. Usually if you catch Dennis at the right time, he’ll even give you a taste of something he’s concocted recently.

Overall, this is a great store – I’ve seen some with bigger selections, but they have plenty and make up for what they don’t have in service.
