Clear dark amber, thin sticky white lacing.
Delicate on the palate with a sweet light malty and floral hop blend, this beer has “session brew” stamped all over it. Nice subtle bitterness and hop flavour. Reminds me of a good Scottish bitter.
I had no problem quaffing a few of these.

Received a glass of clear medium amber brew, some off white foam for the head, a little lace.
Some dry malt notes and most important, a slight whiff of dry smoke. Nice.
Toasted malt, some moderate hop bitterness, a little smoky edge. Nice malt and bitter balance in the finish. Good and drinkable.
Medium bodied. Not much carbonation, but it works.
Overall, nice brew. Not much sweetness or richness, but the malt profile makes this one work.

Poured on-tap and served in a mug, the beer is a slightly hazed, slightly pale, amber-caramel coloring with no head. Aromas of nutty sweetness, with a roasted character and an earthy tone that give the nose some weight. Flavors are roasted, with a peat and earth backbone supporting a subtle caramel sweetness. Hints of smoke and coal add a dynamic to the palate. The beer is smooth in mouth, and surprisingly remains light throughout. Sweet and roasted aftertaste, with a slick, fairly clean finish. Very sessionable, both with the flavors and the low ABV.

Poured a redish brown with a good head that dies slow and left a little lace. An aroma of mostly roasted malts, some sweet caramel, and a touch of hops. Taste is the same as the malts are more aggressive in the mix but the beer does have a minor sweetness and it finishes malty; my complaint is I can't pick out the hops too much. A decent ale but just a tad offbalance.

Had this on a Saturday night at an empty Fenway Beer Works.
Color is a deep mahogany with a finger of thick white head. Aroma is roasted caramel with a lot of sweetness some subtle piney hop notes. Flavor is a lot of toasty sweet bread with some sugary caramel mixed in. A light bitter, resinous, finish balances out the large amount of malty sweetness. Malt body is creamy and smooth, toasty and sweet.

Had this one on cask before Game 1, Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs vs the Montreal Canadiens. Hell of a game. Anyway...
Looked, smelled and tasted very similar to Founder's Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale. This one went down smoothly and had a nice kick behind it. Give this one a shot if they have it.

Pours a reddish-copper color with a two-finger head.
Aroma is sweet and a bit smoky as well. A bit of roastiness peeks out.
Taste is light and sweet with a nice, subtle smokiness to it. Light by a bit. Nice hop presence.
Mouthfeel is full of lingering sweet malt and smokiness.
Light and easy to drink. Perhaps a bit too light. Otherwise, drinkable.

Had from BBW/Canal St. It was served in there "small" 16oz pint glass. The beer was a rusty brown color with about 1 finger of white creamy looking head that retained for the entire length of the sample. Some thick rings of lace formed all the way down the sides of the glass.
The nose was malty upfront with a semi-roasted smell. Some carmel and perhaps just a faint trace of hops.
Taste was very smooth and creamy on the palate. A very malty foundation with carmel and slight toffee as well. Well balanced with a slight bitterness to finish off each sip.
Moderate mouthfeel with a very good and balanced creamy coating of the tounge. Little carbonation.
A very enjoyable and drinkable beer. Not overpowering in any respect but well balanced with all flavors well expressed. One of my favorites from BBW.

Poured a reddish brown with a thick and creamy head. Nose is malty and sweet with sugar. Flavor is caramel and biscuity. Slightly bitter toward the end, just enough to reming you of the hops. Mouthfeel is light and creamy, I have a feeling they put it on nito-tap just to try to give the beer more body. Also, just slightly watery. A great session beer while I partook in a couple of these over lunch.

I sampled this seasonal at the Salem Beer Works. It was surprisingly good (and even more surpising, my 20-something waitress recommended it!).
This ale poured a clear, golden color with good white foam that left lace down the glass. The smell was very nice: a strong, floral hop aroma. The taste was dominated by strong floral hop flavors, but with a hint of malt sweetness under the hops. The mouthfeel was hoppy, somewhat astringent, with a long lasting hop flavor. The feel was dry with medium body. The drinkability was good. A surprisingly nice offering at the Beer Works.
