I drove here from Nashville to pick up beers from a variety of brewers we can't get here, such as Bell's, Great Lakes, Great Divide, and Founders. What's that say about Nashville that I have to drive to a city that's 10% the size just to pick up beers from these brewers?? It says a lot about our alcohol laws.
The selection was very good. Each beer in a 6 pack was available as a single. To me this is HUGE. I don't need 6 beers to decide if I like something...1 will suffice.
The quality is good as well, as I didn't find any beers that were expired. This is a lot more than I can say about other liquor stores unfortunately. This happens WAY too much. Clearly, they are turning their beer around fairly quickly.
The service?? Eh...average. Nobody talked to us or asked us if we needed help. Guy at the checkout was in a big time hurry.
All in all, worth a trip from Nashville.

Good lord, that is a lot of beer. As was noted in another review, there are not all that many local/regional beers. That side of the menu is still on New Albanian, Bluegrass, Rivertown.
But there is a ton of stuff here overall. I think they had all of Sixpoints beers, from what I saw. A few FFF. Lots of Founders. If you are moving to the area and are looking for a regular spot, this would be it. Passing through and just want some local brews? This will also do.
P.S. I also picked up Popcorn Sutton's XXX Tennessee White Whiskey while I was here. And it was in a nicely sized mason jar.

I was really looking forward to stopping at Chuck's on my way through KY in order to pick up some local products from a BA rated 100 store. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. Overall the selection was decent for a local place right off the highway but it lacked a good selection of locals. When I'm traveling through the states I like stopping at great liquor stores that have a wide selection of craft breweries that I can't get at home. I only saw a few locals (New Albanian, Kentucky) and even asked if I was missing anything and was told that that's all they had (in addition to some Hoppin' Frog). Some Founders, some ordinary sours but nothing really unusual.
I'd stop back on my way through again but my hopes wouldn't be so high based on the rating.

Chuck's is definitely my go-to beer (and bourbon) store. I'm lucky enough to live about 5 minutes away from here so I also get to be a beer mule for Titosupertramp in Nashville. It's always clean and well stocked. Like others have said, the locals have the real advantage because of all the great selections they have on tap for growler fills. They usually go pretty quickly though, so if you hear they have something you want, get there asap.
Blake and the crew there are incredibly knowledgeable about their products and love to talk about beer. It's refreshing to have someone with that much passion helping you pick out good brews.
Be sure to check out their sweet bar in the back by the tap. Ask Blake about it's history. Pretty cool if you are from around the area.

Well, I've been here a handful of times and thought it was high time I review this place.
This location is pretty large and open with plenty of room to move about with your shopping cart(I never thought I'd be one of those people who pushes around a buggy in a liquor store, but son of bitch, what do you know..things change). I wouldn't go so far as to say Chuck's is classy, but it's very clean, orderly and nice.
The quality/selection is almost always top notch and exciting because of the differences in the KY and TN beer markets. When coming to Chuck's, you'll find: Founders, Bells, Great Lakes, Three Floyds, Goose Island, a good amount of Belgians and growing number of sours.
One of the great things about Chuck's is you can break up any of the 4/6 packs for mixers. Also, I've never noticed anything out of date on the shelves which speaks to the good work of the staff.
If you go there while Blake(steamhead) is working, you'll be treated to good beer conversation, maybe a sample of what's on tap and a tour of the cooler where the kegs are kept. Man, does he have some badass stuff in that cooler.
As far as prices go, they're less expensive than pretty much anywhere here in Nashville. On comparable products, they tend to be a dollar or so cheaper.
In closing, Chuck's is my regular oasis for out of market beer and a place that I've had re-occuring dreams about...wish I was kidding.

Made the pilgrimage to Chuck's by way of visiting family in Nashville. Since I'm a south Floridian, was an a mission to find Founder's Breakfast Stout, and found Chuck's on BA. After calling ahead to make sure they had the beer, convinced (read; begged) the wife and sister to drive me up there in search of greatness.
Got to say, was not disappointed in any way. Selection was amazing (especially for a Floridian who never sees this stuff), store was clean, service was great (thanks, Blake!).
A very pleasant experience, would recommend this store to anyone in search of great beer.

There are more than a few beer stores in good ole Bowling Green, Kentucky but Chuck's is the best. The selection is as good as it gets for Kentucky. If you go, make sure you ask for Blake or Devin as they are very helpful and make superb recommendations. There may be other beer knowledgeable employees, but I don't know them so I can't comment. Also, the store has quite a bit of nice glassware at a very reasonable mark up when compared to brewery website prices. There is one tap chosen personally by Blake for growler fills. The other Chuck's in town has 4 taps, but they're usually not as good beers and a bit pricey.

Right off I-65 at Exit 22 in Bowling Green KY, this place has been a regular stop for me for years. Selection is always GREAT with plenty of great beer I cannot get in my home town. Beer Manager Blake is super knowledgeable and is a great guy. Plenty of Craft beer, Belgium beers, huge selection of KY and TN Whiskey, Wine, and Liquors. Big aisle of craft beer and Belgiums. Huge aisle of TN and KY Spirits. Very large wine selection too. Closest place to Atlanta for Three Floyds products.

I stopped by this place on vacation due to all of the recommendations. I had the pleasure of meeting Blake, who is a true beer geek. This guy just LOVES beer. Very knowledgeable and nice. The selection was great. I walked out with quite a bit of beer for a little price. When I was there, Blake had tapped a 2010 keg of Old Ruffian and was selling growler fills for half price! I got a sneak peak of what was coming on tap next and I have to say, I am truly jealous of all the locals. He has some great stuff coming up. But I don't want to overshadow the selection with just their keg tappings. They had mostly everything I was looking for and even some stuff I wasn't! If your anywhere in this area (I drove an hour north from Nashville on vacation) I would really recommend stopping in. Its well worth the stop and I will be back sometime.

Chuck's is a great place. If you happen to live in Nashville, it's a mecca. The thing about Chuck's is, by itself it's pretty good. The selection is pretty good, nothing to blow you out of the water, but very well managed and put together with thought. Every beer that sits on the shelves at Chuck's is there because it ought to be. The beer demi-god that controls the brew world of Chuck's hand picks everything, and though there may be better stores in other markets, for what he has to work with Blake does a damn fine job. The growler station holds only one keg, and that's all it needs. That things pours some of the most ridiculous selections, from barrel-aged stouts to dark saisons and sours. Because Blake has not yet decided to replicate himself, to enjoy the full experience make sure he's working, it completely changes the atmosphere and makes a huge difference.
