I saw some wine and beer when I was walking round Main St so I walked in to see what I could find. A nice selection of local and craft beers, with a sign that says you are welcome to drink on premise and out side as well.
The cashier/owner is nice and knowledgeable, and seems pretty enthusiastic. He will also open the bottle if you don't happen to have a bottle opener handy, and off you go.
The selection is decent. About 100 bottles, all in singles. I think everything is displayed on the self, and in a cooler so you can buy a beer and go walk around town. There is a mixed six pack option as well. All the local selections like Real Ale and Saint Arnold. Lots of other craft and import beers. Nothing crazy, but good. They also have about 4-5 taps to choose from as well. Real Ale is the main stay there, but they also have a tap of Weihenstephaner which is great to see.
Overall, if you are walking by stop in to grab a beer to go. It is a nice store with a good selection, and it is fun to be able to walk around town sipping on a nice beer.

Of the places I've been in Fredericksburg, this establishment has by far the largest beer selection in the whole town. Primarily a wine shop, I spied a few beers through the window and popped in for a closer look.
Great selection for a wine shop: 118 beers, all bottled, including all the Texas locals and a significant cross-section of craft brewers and imports (not really the kind of place for cheap macros). You can even "build a box" for the price of beer plus $2.50, which includes a sturdy cardboard box with packing material, presumably for shipping home or gifts. Everything is singles, didn't see any cases or sixers. Prices are reasonable, but not the cheapest I've seen.
Most beers are displayed along with the wines at room temp, but there is a cooler in the back with chilled beverages. (Apparently, F'burg has an open container law so you can enjoy while you mosey along.) Owner is behind the register and seems well-informed and very eager to help. Wine tours are also available with several wineries located in this part of the state.

Texas Wine Cellars is located in the main shopping area in Fredericksburg, countless craft and antique shops are on either side. This is a pretty good stop primarily because there is no open container laws and many of their good beers are in a cold case. They also have a few beers on-tap. You can make a mixed six for the price of the beers plus $2.49, which I think is too high of a price for a cardboard suitcase. The selection here features many great, but standard German beers and a fairly good selection of American micros and popular imports. For a smaller town this is a great selection, but compared to Houston, Austin, or San Antonio their selection is a little bit lacking. The service was friendly, but I had a feeling that the lady there knew more about wine than beer. This is a good place to buy beer if you're already in town, just don't make this your sole destination.

I've been here twice, the first time I decided not to buy anything because an older gentleman working there seemed really upset that we even walked in, and I asked him a few questions on some of the beers they had, and he was really agitated about having to answer. So, yes, I was rude back, took a few samples and left. The second time the old fart was gone, the girl working there was really friendly and knowledgeable on the beer they had on hand, the young guy with long hair working there this time was also very helpful. There beer selection was fairly small but impressive, their price are a bit more than I would like to see but not too bad. I did buy several bottles of beer, and I have been pleased with them so far. I will be going back to this place whenever I'm back in Fredericksburg, and I do recommend stopping by to see what they have in stock. For the old guy working, just be a little more friendly and I'll be just as nice back.
