A: Black with a thick brown head that dissipates rather quickly.
S: Dark (barley) malt and a touch of hops. Has some nice coffee characters to it, but also has that rather rough, pent-up industrial quality as well.
T: Dry, deep roasted malts, lactose and hops combine for a pleasant bittersweet coffee flavor.
M: Fairly thick and surprisingly creamy. Low carbonation and a long finish.
I tried this for the first time in September 2009 sitting outside after dinner at the Hotel Margherita, and was pleasantly surprised. It might be the best beer brewed in East Africa. Good flavor and great mouthfeel. Very nice sipper and a beer I would order anytime it was available.
