November 2009: Bottle, RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. ABV was 4.5%. Pale golden colour, moderate head. Sweetish aroma of grass, maize and ripe yellow apples. The flavour is slightly drier than the aroma makes you expect, moderate sweetness, some dry hops in the finish.

If you are facing Kilimanjaro, drink this crappy beer. If you are facing the Serengeti, drink that crappy beer. If you just like elephants, drink Tusker. If you aren't sure of your geography, drink Safari. These drinking rules come from a friend in Tanzania. You don't go there for the beer.

Bottle at Arusha Coffee Lodge in Arusha, Tanzania
L: Clear and yellow, not a lot of head.
S: Light, sweet malt and corn.
T: Butter! Light taste, buttery flavor added complexity and was pleasant. I wouldn't say it's a sweet beer overall but it did have a hint of sweetness.
F: Very smooth.
O: Nothing magical, but definitely more than ok. I liked it the more I drank it, seemed to develop a bit of complexity. There's a good chance I'd buy a bottle if I came across it in the US

Drank this great grew in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It is a corn beer. Pale color with a nice head. Sweet tasting and very drinkable, especially in the Indian Ocean coast's heat.
I wish this was available close to me. Guess I will have to wait for my next East African trip.

Pale colour, absolutely clear, almost no head; smells and tastes of sweet corn, no hops no bitterness. Dry and crisp. If this is your only option on vacation, you can do worse, even it isn't great
