El Salvador beer. Sounds Caribbean, so why not. Pours a clear and fizzy yellow body with an average white head. A few spots of lace are left on the glass.
Aroma of lager yeast, vague hops, and some toasted corn.
Light body is fizzy and well carbonated. Rather thin.
Taste is corn syrupy sweetness balanced by a vague hop bitterness. Adjunct sweetness becomes more apparent as it warms.
Not horrible, but one of those light lagers best enjoyed ice cold in the hot sun.

12 oz bottle poured into pint glass
A: Poured a straw yellow with a good fingers worth of head that dissipated very quickly, leaving no lacing. Had lots of visible carbonation from start to finish.
S: Lots of grain and a little corny.
T: I'm getting the corniness right up front with a very light spicy hops that disappears very quickly. The finish has a little lemon zing in it.
M: Light crisp with good carbonation. Fits the mex style.
D: If you like Mex Light beers it is right up you alley, just not my style.... Really not getting any Pilsener here at all.

Yep, I bought it because it's from a far away place - El Salvador - from which I'd never had a drink. Poured a massive 3" white soap suds head which faded quickly and exhausted most of the effervescence from the body. Typical clear straw yellow lager color. Smells very mildly of corn. Very mild slightly sweet corn water taste. It's like a slightly weaker version of a mainstream BMC.

12oz bottle poured into a Duvel snifter. No date.
Appearance - A vigorous pour delivers a one finger white head with good lacing and decent to low retention. Clear pale gold body with some visible floaters.
Smell - Wet dog. Cardboard. Hidden alcohol underneath it all. Stale sweetness.
Taste - Stale. Tobacco. Dry cardboard. One of the driest pilsners I've had (though BA describes it as a Light Lager).
Mouthfeel - Mild astringency. Light bodied, but the head offers some frothiness. Dry.
Overall Drinkability - Not bad but almost getting to be. This is definitely a beer that requires either an acquired or preferred taste. I don't imagine the average beer advocate would enjoy this one.

Color is very light straw. Head came and went very quick. Smell is typical cereal grain lawn mowing beer. Taste is better than I thought based on the smell and my preconceptions, in that it is fresh and doesn't have that fake corn sweetness that most "premium" imports have. I want to say that this actually has some malt in it. For a Light Lager the finish is great. Also, I see no real flaws for the style. I'll probably get this again when the weather gets warmer to quench a summer thirst after some hard outdoor work.

A: Light straw yellow with a cloudy white head when poured quickly.
S: Clean, with corn and fresh barley. Some fresh pine and grass.
T: Corn, minty herbs, and a kind of bell pepper note. Clean with mild sweetness. Light flavored as expected from a pils.
M: Refreshing and light. The minty flavor makes it cooling to the mouth.
O: A pretty good pilsner! Suprised me a little, so it gets a bonus here.

Crystal clear and bright yellow in colour topped by a thin skim of fine, white bubbles. A thick collar left a bit of sticky lace on the glass. Sweet, malty aroma, cereal grains, slightly bready/yeasty, with perhaps a hint of hops. Thin flavour. Very low bitterness left musty malt sweetness unbalanced. It had a slightly spicy edge towards the end, but the flavour disappeared in the finish leaving it tasting watery. Light bodied with moderate carbonation, fairly dry. Inoffensive, but quite bland.

Part of a Beers of the World pack from Cost Plus World Market.
Pours a clear light yellow with a 1 inch fizzy head that fades to a film. Foamy rings of lace stick to the sides of the glass on the drink down. Smell is pretty subdued but I do get some grain aromas but that is pretty much it. Taste is of grains and some corn flakes. A light fruity flavor is apparent too. An average level of carbonation makes for a crisp and clean mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average lager and my first beer from El Salvador. I am not too sure that this is a light beer as listed however.

Just a bit better than I expected from this south-of-the-border macro lager.
The sweetness is smooth and even though it is mellow, it makes up the bulk of the flavor.
Better than Corona, although I'd have to try it side-by-side to Modelo to decide which one is better.

The first beer i taste from El Salvador, poured a in bayern-pilsner glass. Look: Pale yellow color, headless, fair amount of bubbles and poor lacing; Smell: Dry malt and corn, probably because of its high carbonation but conveys freshness; Taste: Sweet corn and strong character to pale malts, hops and floral background; Mouthfeel: Dry with medium bitterness, very light body and high carbonation and very light body; Drinkability: Good, very light but without becoming a light beer.

Got this today for the Super Bowl, not exactly sure why alhough it was pretty cheap. Pours exactly the way you'd expect it to: cleay, yellow, and headless. Nose is a light sweet malt and a touch of bitterness. Uncomplex but not offensive at all.
Light and pleasant with a bubbly texture and thin body, even for the style. Sweet but not overdone. What flavor exists is actually ok. This is a beer for people who don't like beer but it flows down like water.

Many thanks to my local trading partner, tone77, for bringing by a whole buncha bottles to help me keep my bottles aligned with my CANs.
El Salvadoran beer, eh? This may add another country to my stats. Here goes!
My aggro pour resulted in a finger of bone-white head with decent retention. Color was a deeper shade of yellow than I expected from this style, plus it evidenced NE-quality clarity. Nose had a corn-like adjunct quality, making me dubious about the style listing on this one. It was more of an AAL than a Light Lager. Mouthfeel was thin with a honey-like lager sweetness on the tongue. It actually tasted better than it smelled, but it still wasn't much. Finish was kind of bland and watery. It was not a bad beer, more simply ho-hum.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a Pilsner glass.
Appearance: light golden hue with a crystal-clear body and tons of apparent effervescence. Head is one thick finger of pillow white foam. It's not what I'd call outstanding, but it's pretty decent for a light lager.
Smell: light, malty aroma without the sour grain smell I usually associate with this type of beer. There's not much to it, but it is entirely inoffensive.
Taste: once again, the flavor is not too bad, but it is rather weak and not entirely well-composed. There's a very light malt flavor without any real hop character, and, while the graininess isn't sour, there is a touch of that wet-grain flavor which isn't delicious. Not awful, but not really recommended either.
Mouthfeel: not too bad, actually. There's not a lot of body here, but it is carbonated enough to give a nice, tingly fizz. Halfway decent.
Drinkability: the more I drink of this, the less impressed I am with the flavor. This beer is okay overall, but the flavor is just bland. For all that, though, it is inoffensive and somewhat refreshing. I just wouldn't want to have a second bottle.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a pale yellow color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of sweet malts. Taste is crisp, light, some malts, really not much in the way of flavor. Feels light in the mouth and has good drinkability, great for a hot day. Overall this makes for a mediocre brew.

A: Pours a bright, crystal-clear pale gold color. The tall, foamy white head has decent retention. Some soapy lacing forms an irregular but persistent pattern on the glass.
S: Very clean. Lightly sweet and grainy, with definite corn syrupy qualities. A nondescript herbal hoppiness is also present. Perhaps a faint lemony character as well.
T: Faint grainy/husky maltiness up front. Slightly doughy. Thorough notes of corn, although thankfully not overly sweet. A mild flash of herbal/perfumy hops fades very quickly.
M: Light bodied, obviously. Watery, with medium carbonation. A standard clean, lagery finish.
D: Considering it's not actually a pilsner, this is a pretty decent light lager. It has a little bit of flavor, but overall is a very clean, seltzery beer.

A: Typical light yellow color of normal macro lagers with a thin, dissipative white head.
S: Light malts, clean... not much here.
T: Taste is very subtle but unique if you capture it. There's some fruits.. berries, apples, and a bit of citrus that I can detect ... that crop up out of the malty flavor and provide a nice, refreshing zing. Otherwise, slightly sweet and no noticeable hops.
M/D: Smooth and light with medium carbonation. It's a delicate balance like the taste. Finally a South American beer I've had that's able to hold a little bit of its own, without just being a refreshing backdrop for more flavorful latino foods.

Served in a Budweiser pokal.
Pours a clear, very light and pale straw, a watered down champaigne with a hell of a lot less carbonation. The head starts off all white and fluffy, a cozy cloud, but quickly fades into obscurity, lacing fairly well. The smell is quite funky, and not in a Bootsy Collins way. Rice, wheat, and a vague smell of burning (can't really explain that one...) finish off the pretty weak nose. The taste is an improvement, but not much of one, as rice and bleached wheat dominate (not unlike a bowl of stale, slightly toasted Rice Chex), with little else happening. The body is--get this one--very light, very much on the watery side, with only a slight amount of carbonation. Based on this, the drinkability is fairly high, but the desire to drink it does not live equal the ability to do so.

I had one of these in a mug at Atlacatl, an excellent Salvadoran restaurant LA. I recommend the eatery, by the way. Anyway, so the beer is generally your standard Salvadoran lager, and I wouldn't be able to pick it out from a crowd, really.
The beer looked standard, good ol' straw color. Nothing particularly eventful there. In fact, it was barely notable. "Hm, OK, cool, a beer!"
Smelled like a standard Latin American lager, brewed in some sort of metal, obviously.
Taste was acceptable, and one of the better ones from this part of the world, I suppose. Nothing came out and gagged me. Clean and acceptable, nothing interesting. Pretty much the same story with mouthfeel. I couldnt distinguish this from a Bud or a Modelo or any of that.
In light of all that, the drinkability is high, probably because there isn't much going on. Not heavy, not offensive, clean and crisp, and would definitely be good in a hot shower.
Great bang for the buck, I'll give it that much!
