Pours a clear and very straw color with a bright white head that falls down and leaves a pretty thick lacing. The nose is very minor with an almost bitter tone to it. Minor roasted edge. Flavor is sweet. A little bit too much and a tad unbalanced it seems. There also seems to be a bit of an apple tone here as well. A bit thin overall. Feel is decent. Lower carbonation with an okay liquid body. This is drinkable, sure. Doesn't really carry enough punch to make it memorable enough to go back to. But still nice enough to try.

Pours a clear yellow with a foamy white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thin rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt and grain. Taste is much the same with a corn flake flavor on the finish. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that is drinkable but pretty basic.

A -- drank from bottle so gave "average" only
S -- clear, clean, crisp, grassy, even slightly grape-y; very refreshing
T -- follows smell, smooth rather than bitter but has a pleasant slight edge of hops
M -- as expected for a pale lager, not very chewy; also light on carbonation
Overall -- delicious! An excellent beer for a hot day or a hot meal.

A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a very slight amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high bright white head that died down but consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of musty grapes in the nose—similar to what you would smell next to a wild grape vine in the late summer.
T: Like the smell, the taste has light flavors of musty grapes and hints of malts. A very slight amount of bitterness is noticeable.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is quite good compared to other beers in the style. I definitely found the grape flavors to be quite interesting.

A: Pours a crystal clear pale golden yellow in color with light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a thin (1/8 finger tall) bright white head that quickly reduces to a very thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Light to moderate amounts of musty malts aromas along with some adjunct malt grains/corns and slightly fruity.
T: The beer is slightly sweet with some adjunct malt notes of grain and corn. Additionally there is some light bitterness from light bodied hops and a light amount of yeast.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation.
O: I thought this was a pretty good beer for the style - I enjoyed it and I think that I could probably could have a couple of these. Easy to drink and enjoyable, could be sessionable.

Suprema has a thin-to-medium, white head and a clear, bubbly, yellow-golden appearance, with considerable, stratified lacing left down the glass. The aroma is sweet, lemony, and one gets a bit of malt and stinging hops as well. The flavor is rich, lemony, malty, slightly hoppy, and it even has an odd, cream ale olive oil aspect to it. The mouthfeel is light to medium, and Suprema finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, and supremely drinkable. This made for a very nice 6 am breakfast beer. Overall, I loved it!

11.2oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Appearance is a clear light yellow with the tiniest of fizzy heads. Head is quick to fade but ok lacing.
Smell grainy with corn and cooked cabbage. Not very appealing.
Flavor is corn and the same cooked cabbage that was in the smell. Also some grape flavor. The beer is pretty sweet throughout with a tannic bitterness towards the finish.
Glad I got to try a beer from El Salvador but not something I would pick up again.

330ml bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Appearance: Decidedly clear body, faint pale golden hue with a decent-looking, airy, white head. Minute lacing on the way down.
Smell: A tad sweetish in the nose, some lackluster graininess, a mice-tear worth of uningratiating acetone, and a small serving of chilled creamed corn.
Taste: Mildly grainy with a sweet pop of light corn syrup. Ultra faint herbaceous hops, near nil bitterness, but, then, a trace of chemically astringency that holds firm until the sweetish, soft finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Overall: Sometimes you luck out with a simple and innocuously inoffensive pale lager, but, sometimes it's kinda icky, as is the case with Suprema.

Pours into my pilsner glass glass a pale straw color with great clarity and big bubbles. A soapy white cap quickly falls to a broken film. Leaves a fair amount of lace.
There's not a lot going on here. Lightly cooked veggies and not much else. A fizzy super-light body isn't helping. The beer tastes like little more than water mixed with some rice and straw. Bitterness is very, very light and tasteless. Finishes with a metallic flavor and a bit of cooked cabbage.
It's light and flavorless and not much else. A couple of off flavors provided the only interest. This is not a beer worth revisiting.

Getting past one of the most horrendous odors I've come across in my travails through the pseudo-pilsners of the world, Suprema tastes and drinks very much like the lot of Latin American light lagers, settling on the lesser end of the spectrum.
The bottle gave a Dec 2010 bottling date, and I could imagine it perhaps being skunked with its green glass - I did, as usual, grab a single from the back of the row, out of direct light. Only, it wasn't quite all skunk that plagued its aroma and flavor. My best guess is that this is brewed with some funky hard water - heavy metals, cruddy lead pipes, and/or some low-quality or staling ingredients.
Basically, it pours with a beautiful, tight, white cottony head, leaving some pretty crystal lace, all atop a crystal clear, sickly yellow-gold hue - fairly standard. But as it's pouring out of the bottle you can smell the acrid stench of chemical/mineral/vegetable sizzling your nose hairs, eyes close to watering. Not as much carries over into the taste, which comes off like watered-down cream corn, lightly musty-funky, with a 1/4 tsp of malty sweetness on the end. I really can't tell if it's hops or ridiculous tannins or what - it feels fairly smooth but pretty fizzy-bitey, bitter, and dry, with a tiny residual film left on the tongue.
Could have been skunked, and I hate to leave it at that, considering its likely better fresh on-tap or mmm from a can. But such experiences like mine here hold weight as well.

330ml green bottle {"No Returnable"} served in pint glass.
A - Clear; pale gold color with a white head that rather quickly dissipates to a thin partial coat. Does leave lacing, however. Medium/light carbonation.
S - a bit fruity and wine-like
Tastes better than indicated by aroma. Still some white wine resemblance, but both hops and malt in the mix. Nice finish.
M - light, crisp and smooth, but unremarkable.
D - good, east to drink, thirst-quenching beverage.

I had this one at a Salvadorean restaurant. I picked it out because it was the drink of choice for the rowdy spanish-speaking table actross the room, figuring if they could take down 4 beers each, I'd at least like to try one.
It poured an extremely welcoming semi-clear golden barley color into the glass with a thick creamy head.
Nose was lemony hops with a beery undertone.
Taste was dry and balanced - a great use of the light-bodied hops. The yeast was still a mild (and positive) presense making me think they didn't microfilter it out. A friend of mine was trying to explain to me how that made most american-style lagers taste bad, and I didnt believe him, but now I might have some evidence to back him up.
Mouthfeel was outstandingly good for such a dry beer. Just all smooth and creamy.
Drinkability of this beer when you're having a plate of pupusas is really off the charts. I only gave it a 4.5 because I think it might be less charming away from food.
All in all, I may never try another Salvadorean beer, since this one is so good. (or to my palate - i think my review is going to come in over the mean)

A pale gold color with a small head that forms, the dissipates a little quicker than average.
Smell: very clean, fruity kinda like a dry white wine rather pleasing.
A stronger pilsner surprising from the look I almost expected water. Not a bad taste if you drink it normally but hold it on the tongue and it quickly becomes rougher. very grainy almost no spices.
Its drinkability is high due to the fact that not to much is going on with this beer.

A - A pale, anemic yellow. Standard straw color. Third-of-a-finger head that goes all Judge Crater on us the instant it sees air.
S - Like a dive bar bathroom that was just mopped with Natural Ice.
T - A bit of corn, cheap malt, and just a faint echo of hops. Like, imagine hops had shouted in an empty room just before you walked in. It's like that.
M - Gross. Prickly, bubbly, and fizzy. Very light. Imagine brushing your tongue and rinsing it off with seltzer water. No, wait, you brushed your cheeks, too. That would still feel better than this brew.
D - I could chug this as a session beer after I ran out of good stuff, but I'd burp like hell and probably be upset with myself. It's overpriced, both in terns of money and the energy I spent carrying the sixer to the car. I know this may sound harsh, but this was an immense disappointment. Avoid!
