Deep mahogany, good soapy head, decent lacing. A sharp taste of dark roasted malts, rich and creamy. Appears to be medium bodied, which is pleasant; nice toffee and chocolate taste towards the finish Decent warming feeling, and actually a very good beer from the folks at Hops.

Had this at the Manchester, CT location.
The beer is a reddish amber brown, with a thick dense ivory head. Good head retention, lasting to the bottom of the glass.
Aroma is malty, with a touch of toasted malt. A touch of toffee, and a pleasant yeasty nuttiness. Hops are pretty much nonpresent.
Flavor is rich and malty, with a bit of toasted malt. Some toffee flavor, with excellent nuttiness. A touch of hoppy dryness to the finish, probably fuggles or target. Body is medium, and carbonation is mild. A pretty solid brown ale, in the english style. I enjoyed it.

A really good looking nut brown ale. Huge tan head over a dark mahogany body is long-lived and lace worthy, coating the glass liberally. Great roasted nut aroma and flavor. Very smooth and malty, but a bit light-bodied and watery to my taste. Superb balance. Very drinkable and enjoyable. Easily one of Hops' best.

Appearance: Very dark amber, almost...brown in appearance. Minimal head retention, but there is some lacing of the glass.

Smell: The toasted nut aroma is very evident with this beer.

Taste: A beer from Hops with flavor? Apparently so. I liked the toasted nut flavor this beer imparted. Unlike anything I've had. Also some roasted caramel, chocolate, and even bitter coffee flavor present.

Mouthfeel: Surpisiginly full-bodied. Smooth and creamy.

Drinkability: Above average. The flavors weren't over-powering and the was just a little aftertaste, and it was a flavorful nutty one at that.

Went to the Hops brewery a little wary of a brew chain. Anyway, I was pleasently surprised by this beer. Very easy to drink. Dark brown color with a light head. Smooth feel. Could actually taste the nutty flavor.

Deep thick brown color, with a fluffy, darker tan head. Very nice looking beer. Lots of roasted malt and chocolate flavor, very nutty finish. Easy to drink, stuck to your ribs, nice and thick and rich flavors. For the bashing Hops gets, I thought this beer was very good.
