Chuck's is the home of fine drink. As with the town, Chuck's is a great old 19th century building that is warmly lit, and the creaks in the floor are free. Shelves & stacks of wine (2500+ bottles) and beer (400+) that occupy the 2000sq/ft floor keep the eyes dancing.
Mike, the Swami of Suds, without-a-doubt knows his stuff. He loves to talk beer, down to how to pair it with food. Everything you need, that is available to Ohio, can be got here. What ever they don't have can be ordered and received within days, at no obligation.
The staff know their trade, and they walk your purchase to your car even if it's little more than a sixer.
Plus they have books, glasses, coasters - enough swag to swing a stick at. They also keep a nice selection of cheese and food stuffs.
It's a place not to be missed. In short, it's a place for a guy to go to feel like a kid again.
Plus, they usually have monthly beer tastings @ only $5 a pop.

I can't believe I've worked and lived so close to this place and never knew about it! This place simply rocks! The staff is more than friendly to offer up their vast knoweledge of beer and help you find whatever you might be looking for. The selection is one of the best in the area, and as far as I can tell the rotation is very good as well. Selection wise- anything that you they can get in Ohio they seem to be willing to bring here for their customers. Not to mention they also have some fine glassware, cheese, and wine. Truly a classy place. Cheers to you Chuck's!

This is my favorite beer store yet! The selection is outstanding and the customer service is superior.
I was not in the store but for 1 minute and was cheerfully greeted. When I explained that this was my first time there and that I was interested in beer, I was introduced to the "beer guy", Scott, who showed me around the place. He broke down their inventory by region and style and even took me back to "the vault". There are some real goodies back there.
Scott is very knowledgeable and spent time assisting me with my purchase. My haul consisted of Southern Tier Choklat, Mikkeller Big Worse and Black Hole, Avery Mephistopheles' Stout, and Bell's Special Double Cream Stout.
As soon as I deplete my inventory, i am heading back up there to pick up some other goodies that I will not mention in this review. That is, if they are still there of course :)
I give this place an A+. Thanks!

Thank you Scott for suggesting this location while I was visiting in Ohio.
I was able to find the Speedway Stout I have been looking for!! (Mike held a few bottles for me. Thank you.) I also got a few bottles of Dreadnaught, Double Bastard, Brooklyn Black Choc. Stout, Expedition Stout, St. Bernardus 12, La Fin Du Monde etc. etc. that I cannot dream of finding in my corner of Tennessee.
There was alot more there that I wanted to try, but space in my car was the limiting factor.
I was very happy with the prices, and the help taking my cases out to the car after my shopping spree. As some others mentioned before, they mentioned that they are willing to ship to me if I decide I want something later that may not have been in stock at the time.
I will be back for sure next year.
Edit: I have now ordered from them twice over the phone and have been more than happy with the results. The beers ship quickly and are very well packaged.
Edit 2: came back 3/22/08 another amazing expreience. I wish I did not live 9 hours away.

This place is great. I just recently moved to Ohio from the DC area and I am always looking for a great store to supply my addiction to good beer. I found this place here and based on other reviews, I had to check it out. As you walk in the first thing you notice is that this is a really old building, possibly a house at one point? Great atmosphere, I was greeted immedietly after walking through the door. As soon as i mentioned BA the whole staff got excited. The main room you enter is mostly wine but has some beer. After walking through this room you move to the left into a beer haven. It's a little tight in area's but no real beer fanatic would ever complain about being squeezed in between tight isles of great beer. There are a lot of hard to find beers in supply here. Most of these are in low quantities but they have them. After talking to one associate i was offered a tour of the beer "Vault" as he refered to it. He took me into the cooler and showed me the selection of beer in there. The back wall of the cooler is full of nice 6-pack, 750's and really hard to find singles. I left with a great selection of the following; (2) 2003 Aventinus still in the white wrappers with purple lettering, a 12oz. Mephistopheles stout from Avery, a Stone 07' Vertical Epic, Stone Imperial Russian Stout, Unibrou Chambly Noire, AleSmith Speedway Stout, and a 6-pack of Paulaner Salvator. The best part of the visit is that when I asked if they had Unibrou Quelque Chose they offered to order a case and hold a couple for me. This is a hard to find Cherry beer. My wife loves this as it is not a typical beer and tastes like drinking warm cherry pie. This is so important because most beer stores make you deal with what they have. I would recomend this place to anyone. There was also a couple of people there for the wine and cheese selection. I don't care for either but they supposedly have a great selection of these also. I have to finish the review with talking about the staff and how great they are. This is my new favorite store, period.

Forget Rosi's, this is the best beer store in the Cleveland area. The selection is excellent, the knowledge is excellent, and Chagrin Falls is a really attractive place. The only place in Cleveland I was able to find Rogue Imperial Pils, and they also make runs out west to get hard-to-find beers. Recommended!
They have regular visits by local breweries, tastings, and other cool gatherings. I travel to this store every chance I get (I live about 20 minutes away). If you live in the Cleveland area or are visiting, and have never been to this store it is a must see.

This place is sort of a drive for me, an hour at least. But you know what it is well worth it. Chuck's with out a doubt THE premiere beer shop in the greater Cleveland area.
First off is the selection at this place is like none I've ever seen. Bottles all over the floor, in boxes of course but none the less. Belgians all over the wall. another wall that is a cooler, full of ready to drink items. It really is the best place to find beers.
The service there is great as well. Only if you can get past the pompousness of the staff. The kinda think they are better than you , which can get kind of annoying. Of course Im only kidding. These guys are great. They are exceedingly knowledgeable and are willing to talk all day long about beer.
If you ask me, and since you are reading this you are probably are looking for some input. This is it in Cleveland.

This is a great beer store. I was in Ohio, with several friends, for a week and knew that we would be in areas where we couldn't find good beer. This was the right place to stock up.
I found out about Chuck's on BeerFly and the recommendations are right. Upon entering we were greeted by a friendly staff that went out of the way to help. The building is old and has probably been many different things. The left side if the store has all the beer. The selection is exceptional; I favor IPAs and found many that I can't get in Florida my home state. One of our group is a big Stout guy and he was like a kid in a candy store! When Mike showed us the "vault" it really got things going. He would show a beer we hadn't seen or couldn't get and, of course, we had to have it. We got the complete "tour" and bought much more than possible to drink in the week ahead but what the heck we were on vacation so have at it!
Some of our haul: Stone Brewing IPA, Arrogant Bastard Ale, Ruination IPA and Old Guardian Barleywine. Great Lakes Brewing Blackout Stout, Weyerbacher Black Hole, Ale Smith IPA, New Holland Night Tripper, Moylans IPA, Triple Ale and Stouts, Southern Tier Unearthly IPA, Bells Ales, Pyramid Brewing and many more! When buying "collectors" beer be careful some beers don't age well. We had one or two, bought in the excitement of the moment that should have been left on the shelf. All in all still a great beer store. It is worth walking down the street to see Chagrin Falls and the rest of the area if you have the time.
These guys really made our trip and we will return when in the area. Thanks Mike for having all those great beers available in a cool place!

Well, luckily this place is pretty close to a relatives house, so I had to stop since I was around.
Fantastic selection of brew, especially imports/Belgians. I finally found some Drie Fonteinen, which I have been curious about for quite some time. Also make sure you have a nice chat with Mike, the beer guy here. He is highly knowledgeable in beer, and actually recommended some brew for me to try that I actually didn't know existed. Checked the ratings here to see where they stood and they were both high A-. So the service here is definitely top notch for sure, plenty of help with whatever I was looking for. I will have to get some more suggestions next time I am in there again.
Of course as mentioned in other reviews, they let me know about "the vault" after a bit of time browsing everything. So much goodies in there, and I am sure it regularly rotates as it is sold. I will have to go back in a month or two and see what else is new. I scored some beers that I have always wanted to try and never thought I would ever get unless I traded, or got it mail ordered. Amazing place, a must visit for the area.

Chuck's is for sure the place to go in the Cleveland area if you want to find good beer. The "Swami of Suds", as they call him over there, Mike, is a super nice guy, knows a good amount about beer and is in touch with beer people all across the country. There is a bunch of stuff out in the open but if you really want rare stuff ask to go back in the fridgerated room. I've bought brews by Epic (Utah), De Dolle (Belgium), Schloss Eggenberg (Vienna), Alesmith (California) and some other random ones. You'll probably find something you've never had before.
Mike usually has one or two beers from Three Floyds! Cheers!
