Little carbonation, soft texture, a small body and slightly dry finish.

In all a very boring beer. Possibly ice cold on a warm beach.

The beer pours with a fizzing sound. The clear liquid is straw yellow (5 EBC), the two finger head is white and compact. It sinks slowly leaving some lacing.

The smell is light and clean. Pilsener malt. Somewhat sweet notes of French loaf. Hints of alcohol, earth and flowers.

The taste is very light and a bit thin. Clean sweetness, hints of bread. Light body. Some clean bitter notes in the aftertaste, as well as hints of clean bitterness and a touch of earth. Warming alcohol and hints of green berries in the finish.

The carbonation is strong, the small bubbles short-lived. The liquid is somewhat smooth.

A clean beer that just borders to being thin. Not very exciting.

Found this in a random mix-a-six selection and decided to to give it a go... Wasn't expecting much from it, but in opening up the page to review it, I see it gets a C... I'll try not to let that knowledge effect my rating.
Served in a pils glass.

Really nice clarity in the straw good body. One finger of fizzy and frothy white head with bubbles steadily streaming up the middle and attempting to cling to the sides of the glass. The head is almost entirely gone after about 45 seconds, leaving a milky, cloudy wisp of microbubbles. A little better retention, and I'd say this was a very nice looking Euro lager.

Smells... Well... Bland. There is a dusty grain note with some mild and gentle hops. The flavor is just like the nose suggests, but something here (and in lots of these pale lagers) reminds me of the smell of cologne from when I was a kid in the early 80s... What creates that? The yeast? The water? Whatever it is, it isn't something I necessarily enjoy...

The body is medium but could use a bit more carbonation... The feeling I get is of almost being syrupy and oily.

Overall-- this isn't one I'll grab again. I love trying new beers, especially in cans, but I have found many better than this. I'm not saying I find this beer to be unpalatable, but there's nothing about it that makes me WANT to drink it.

Poured from a 300 ml can into a pilsner glass. The can is quite unique,tall and thin, and a brilliant green color. The beer is more typical in appearance, pale yellow with a thin white head that dissapates quickly.

Smelled at first like a typical lager, grainy and grassy with hints of lemon. As it warmed (and I mean over the space of ten minutes) it began to smell of sugar, wih a faint funk undertone.

Crisp, sweet, and slightly malty, with a mild lemon aftertaste. Some slight bitterness ends it.

Light bodied, with active carbonation that gives it a sharper taste and feel.

A decent beer overall, though not one that I would seek out again. Too expensive for what you're getting and there are many other better lagers locally available.

Pours a clear yellow with a bit of frothy head. Other than being the colour of piss it looks pretty good. Smells like any adjunct lager... Some light hops and a bit of malt but mostly oderless. Good mouthfeel though and solid drinkability. Overall, the best thing about this beer is the sexy can

A peculiar sized can, 10.1oz can poured into a hotel glass. Can looks more like a can of red bull.

A- Pours a fizzy golden yellow that's completely transparent. The head dies down quickly and doesn't leave anything in the way of lacing.

S- Some skunky hops, a little bit of malt and a little but of grassy notes. Reminds me of a less skunky heineken.

T- Pretty much the same as the nose. Some skunky hops and crystal malt. Seems a little watered down even for the style.

M- Lighter bodied that has tight, crisp carbonation. The carbonation just tickles the tongue.

D- Pretty standard. Light flavors and not much else. The small can it comes in makes it easy to drink at the beach or something. I think it's the whole reason it is specially imported to Hawaii.

Steinlager Pure has a thick, white head, a mostly clear, yellow golden appearance, lots of streaming bubbles (etched glass), some brown yeast chunks floating about, and a lot of thick lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, pungent barley malt, and the flavor is fairly hoppy, sweet, somewhat sour, and one gets a full taste of hay and barley malt. Lots of white bread and bread crust with this one. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Steinlager Pure finishes crisp, semi-dry, refreshing, and drinkable. This is a very good beer, and I think you should try it out.

Green bottle, light yellow color, and grassy scent. It already screams New Zealand’s version of Heineken. Pours a clear, light yellow color with only a slight, short lived head. Scent is of cheap grassy grains. Something different for sure. Taste is mild with different grains blended together to give very earthy tone. Basically drinks like any cheap watery American beer, but with perhaps a little bolder flavor. If you drink this you’ll show a little culture but don’t expect a great taste.

12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Poured a pale straw yellow color with about a finger and a half worth of head that settled quickly to a ring with no lacing to speak of. Very visible carbonation from start to finish.

S: A little skunky but not bad, I'm getting a little cooked veggie smell over a light hoppy smell. Smells better than I thought it would.

T: Good mix here, a malty taste up front with a light floral hops half way through. The finish is clean and a little dry.

M: Good crisp carbonation with a strangely smooth and dry finish. Very nice.

D: I was really surprised by this beer, not the Euro Lager crap I was thinking it would be. Very nice mix on all fronts (except for the smell)... Nice mix of malt, hops, crisp and smooth, very easy to drink. I would look for this one again. Thanks New Zealand !!

I'll try anything for a dollar and this was not that bad!

A - My guess is that it's a light almost clear yellow with a 1/2 inch of sticky white head. It's a guess since I drank it from the bottle.

S - Initial smells of sweet water, mild corn/rice, and some apple or pear sweetness (skunked?)

T - Initial pear or apple skunked flavors are tart at first but quickly mash with the sweeter malts and flavors of very light corn and rice. Almost sugar or vanilla like sweetness makes it enjoyable.

M - Light and at times almost "champagne like"

Overall again for a dollar it's quite a good lager and as the temperatures reach 90 here in Pittsburgh it quenched my thirst very well. Not worth more than a dollar but it drinks well for a beer from New Zealand.

330mL bottle into pilsner glass.

A: bright clear gold. vivid carbonation. bubbly bright white head leaves ample lacing as it comes down.

S: a bland malt backbone isnt giving me much of an aroma. cant really detect any hops here.

T: a little bit of herbal vanilla works its way in with a pretty bland malt profile. however, highly crisp. finish is gone and done in an instant.

M: ample lager carbonation. light bodied.

D: really nothing worth seeking out. a boring euro pale lager. glad i could try a brew from new zealand but i hop this isnt the only swill they have over there.

Served in a Gale Sayers shaker pint glass.

So many customers have been asking for this that I figured I'd take full advantage of the sample bottle given to me. Gotta see what the hubbub is about... It pours a clear sallow topped by about a finger or so of white foam. The nose reminds me of corn pops: sweet corn with a touch of rice and wheat tossed in for good measure. It may not be offensive, but it ain't good for beer, lemme tell ya. The taste comes off less sweet, with some mildly funky wheat, light corn, light flowers, and sweet water. The body is light, with a light moderate carbonation and a smoothly watery feel. Overall, not a big fan of this beer, but I can't say it's entirely bad, per se. I could actually see drinking this on a hot day in Wellington (assuming it gets hot enough down there...)...

This was a white elephant from my boss at Xmas. Part of a Cost Plus World Market Beers of the World

App- A soft bubbling medium yellow with a good one finger head and nice cling. Very lager in appearance with soft colors and clarity.

Smell- Smells a bit like an adjunct but a little more to it but nothing much was here. A bit small, thin and watery. Little bit of earthy hop note.

Taste- A pretty average beer that I can't really slam. They are going for an easy drinking market. A little bit of wheat and citrus pair here with some lime flavors.

Mouth- Light bodied/High carbed. No real bite but has some good residual lime and wheat flavors.

Drink- Again like some beers this is meant to be drank really cold and in really hot weather. I see this no different. Maybe during the summer I can come back to it.

Served cold which I would think it would have to be. With a white, foamy head that settles down to a light cover and good lacing. Color is a clear pale yellow with a few bubble trails. Aroma is skunk ( was in a cooler near fluourescent bulb), malt, hint of hop. Flavor is similar to nose plus plenty of carbonic tang. Body is ok and carbonation a little fizzy. Finish is like flavor, leaves a bit of sharpness on back of the tongue from carbo. Actually as it warms, it DOES get a little better: grain and malt flavors come thru more.

Bottle poured into a pint glass.

Appearance is a clear medium gold with a 1.5 finger fizzy head. Head fades pretty quick with no lacing.

Smells a little skunky along with some light malt and grassy hops.

Flavor is cereal grain along with a light grassy hoppyness. The flavor only seemingly lasts for a split second before disappearing into a watery nothingness. Bitterness is light throughout. Mouthfeel is quite soft and smooth. This beer goes down like water and would be great on a hot day. Just not much flavor.

pours out of the green 330cl. bottle a slightly hazed, pale straw yellow colour with a rather large and stubborn egg shell white head. large carbonation bubbles support things with some thin wisps of lace remaining. euro lager aroma, mild sulphur quickly changing to some cracker like malt and bits of flowery hoppiness. the taste profile is a meekly malt centric one, with some doughy, bread and butter notes...complimented by a light, spicy hop bite on the back end. did i say this beer seems light?? the body supports this fact...light and lighter. mouthfeel is rather benign; crisp and prickly. drinkability is ok...a lawnmower beer for sure..it does have a relative quenching aspect to it that is redeeming.

overall this new zealand lager seemingly has any real character stripped away in the flavour profile. a bland and unrewarding offering on the 2nd of December. this is a summer slammer but would only be good for slaking a terrible thirst.

Pours a clear, straw color. 2 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of rice, pale malt, grain, hint of sulfur, and a hint of hops. Fits the style of a Euro Pale Lager. Mouth feel is sharp and crisp, with a high carbonation level. Tastes of grain, pale malt, grain, rice, citrus hops, and a hint of sweet malt. Overall, the rice/sulfur dominates in the beginning, but it quickly mellows. The malts and hops are soothing in the finish.

A: Barley-corn yellow with a sharp clarity reveals a strong effervesce that seems to rise in sporadic bursts. The head is sea-shell white, creamy, but slight in statue, quick to fall to a messy covering. A thin band for lace.

S: Skunky upon first uncapping becoming more settled and bearable in the glass. Corn stalks, dried corn and nothing more.

T: Sweet and sour notes of corn ears and grains. A bit of a turn off at first sip, but becomes more acceptable on concurring sips. Musky green hops, corn come on the close.

M: Probably the worst aspect of the drink, musky green corn ears with an alkaline feel, washy and not something I want resting on my tongue for any length of time.

O: Overall a bit of a struggle to drink, the quicker , the colder, the better. Taste leans more towards sub-par expectations. I remember having their zeinlager and this doesn’t seem to much different. Pure? Not sure of the difference, but kinda like saying our zeinlager was made with unpure ingredients. Maybe this follows the german purity law (snicker) but is as far from taste as it is brewed from germany.

Yellow beer, lots of bubbles, virgin white head, but so thin and so quick to leave as time gets its legs. How is this different than regular Steinlager I'm already thinkin while I'm drinkin. I'm a big fan of the skunky aroma. If you follow, you know I think skunky is the shit for this style lager.

Mild taste, alcohol kinda up in your face for only 5%. Mild hop twang, definitely seems to follow the usual noble hop hallertau vibe. Super mild malt, jeez, is that 6 row? Gets a little tedious, but it has its place, hot weather, or palate cleanser with just enough flavor. Steinlager: You know you've had a lot worse.

B: [11.15 FL OZ, 330ml]Generic shape and simplistic labels. Not a lot of information, but includes a brief description of ingredients and abv. Claims to be pure, making one assume that this is a beer that comes off as really clean and crisp.

A: Clear golden body with very nice fluffy/creamy head(good retention), and decent lacing.

S: As expected, it's skunky like a lager, but it's not as intrusive compared to the majority. Others smells reminds me of pears and grass.

T: Smooth malt complimented by Lemon and Lime, grass and grain.

M: Crisp/clean, light bodied, high carbonation, and low alcohol presence.

O: One of the best lagers I've ever had, although I don't think much of them. When your comparing lagers, this comes off as clean and lives up to it's claim. The skunk also didn't make the drinking experience too unpleasant oppose to others lagers I've come across. If your into lagers, I recommend picking up some Steinlager. I must say that this surprised me, since I wasn't expecting much. Cheers!!!

Clear and golden. Less than a finger of bubbly head. It disappears fast and leaves only a few groups of bubbles. Malty nose. Grainy and a lemony sweetness. Herbal/grassy hops. Sweet pale malts but that fades quickly to a slightly sour/lemon tingle with a lot of carbonation. A veggie and grain flavor comes as soon as the carbonation fades. Very dry on the finish with that lingering veggie/lemon flavor. Bitterness is grassy. A friend gave me a six of this for driving him home. It came in an box with a punch out side and clear, long-neck bottles.

This beer is extremely smooth for a light lager. The beer pours very light with almost no head, lace, or foam, but decent amount of carbonation. The beer smells of light hops and grains, and has an extremely smooth finish. This is an easy beer to drink.

A-Pale yellow color. Head fizzes and dies. Looks like a macro lager.

S-Hey, this is a bit better than expected. A bit grassy, and a bit grainy. Doesn't display much of the Macro lager skunk. Mildly pleasant.

T-This one doesn't taste too bad either. More flavor than your regular lager. Grass and grain and some sweetness. Better than anticipated.

M-Light with heaps of bubbles. No unpleasant aftertaste.

O/D-A good lager. I enjoy the flavor in regards to the style. What makes this beer infinitely better is that at my local store, due to a closeout, this beer is $3.50 for a six pack. Might need to grab a nice $12 dollar case in the near future.
