Dark black with brown highlights. Small tan head. Poor head retention due to force carbing.

Lightly smoky with with some overtones of dark fruit.

Lightly sweet and almost syrupy. Nice fruitiness. It seems a little light in the smoke and chocolate notes for me.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Fine.

A decent beer but nothing special. Disappointing coming from Feral.

Pours dark brown with a small head.
Nose shows soft roasted malt with light nutty and toasty notes.
Pretty gentle flavours. Light roast and very faint nutty malt provides the main show. Goes along the right lines but a bit plain really. Finishes weakly with very little bitterness.
Body feels watery.

Pours a dark kola beer hue with ruby highlights and leaves behind a one finger head that quickly becomes just a film across the top with a rim of lacing, the smell is tobacco, rum and raisin icecream, roasted malts and pepperoni, the mouthfeel is lightbodied and well carbonated with tastes of light chocolate, roasted malts,a light smokiness, raisins, smoked ham and finished with a sweet dryness and overall its alright but quite subdued for my liking and i feel its made more for the masses than the beer lover cheers.

From iPhone notes, at Pumphouse.

Pours black. One finger tan head fades quickly, sheet lace

Aromas of cigar box, smoke, roast malts

Taste is moderate strength, smoked notes in balance with roast malts, a hint of chocolate.

Mouthfeel to style, somewhat watery.

All in all a good session beer, tho not neccessarily a go-to. Odd choice for Feral to bottl as I have just seen.

A - Almost black with a red glint in the light, thin tan head fading to a collar within a couple of minutes.

S - Roasted malt, coffee, smoke.

T - Pretty typical roasted malt flavours, coffee, chocolate. Faint raspberry in there.

M - Moderate in body and carbonation.

O - Nice, accessible, simple and not too intimidating a beer for a craft newbie wanting to branch out to something different.

A - Extremely dark brown with ruby red highlights when held up to light. 2cm off white head that hangs around for a while.
S - Smell is comprised of typical porter coffee and chocolate notes, not much else.
S - Smokey flavour comes through at a moderate level melding with the coffee and chocolate characters.
M - Lighter side of medium bodied, medium carbonation.
D - Probably a bit too out there for even your average craft beer drinker yet the smokey quality and beer in general isn't full on enough for your hardened beer geek. Nice enough and I'd drink it again though.
