Pours a hazy golden straw. The head looks the part, fluffy white but dies too quickly.

Aromas are very subdued, a little yeast, hint of apple, some lemon, sherbert.

Taste is again as aromas but shortlived on palate. The nice zesty lemon aftertaste is good, but too shortlived. It kinds of builds into Dullsville after a while.

Mouthfeel good - zesty, well carbonated, light.

I suspect Feral make better beer than this - so why bottle this one? It's a crowded market afer all.

Light golden and only a slight haze for this bottle conditioned brew. Low carbonation. Head settles very quickly and leaves no lacing. Not a very lively beer.

Has a faint but distinct smell of green apple. That sort of mix of sweet and tart. A bit of Belgian yeast character but not much and it's "tainted" by that green apple.

Hmmm. Just sort of dies on the tongue. Very flat in mouthfeel and taste. Some light malt but it's rather generic missing any wheat or yeast influence.

Disappointing. Have only had Hop Hog from Feral before and it was fantastic. Maybe these bottles didn't travel well but I would be happy to try their keg beer any time.

Drank from my Duvel Tulip

A - Poured a pale yellow colour with frothy white head that retained fairly well leaving minimal lacing.

S - Orange peel and the typical wheat, spice aromas but nothing too pronounced.

T - Citrus with orange, coriander, tangy lemon with only a slight hint of cloves/spice to finish.

M - Light bodied with medium carbonation

O - A good effort from feral here and an easy refreshing summer session beer but lacks that real intense flavour that you would get with say the Hooegarden.

Bottle served in a duvel tulip

A: Pale yellow with the faintest orange, fairly clear, 1 finger of white head, average carbonation.

S: Sweet caramel, yeast, banana, a little butter?? Sweet bread, and a tiny medicinal note.

T: Really sweet. Citrus notes, white bread, yeast, the faintest lemon in there too.

M: This is going to sound weird, but it starts out crisp and finishes kind of buttery... It really annoys me.

O: This beer is a little average, I definitely won't pay money for this again.

A - Cloudy and super pale with a decent 1-2 finger head.

S - The typical witbier aromas of wheat, citrus and clove.

T - Lemon and orange peel. Coriander could be beefed up but its a nice refreshing taste.

M - Thin, light body with moderate carbonation.

O - A pretty basic wit. Feels a bit watered down and plain. Sure is easy to drink but I wanted a bit more punch.

Fairly ho-hum stuff and not really up to the standard that I assume this mob pumps out. It is however brewed at AIB so maybe this explains why this beer is a fairly mundane wit. Fizzy, lager-like body with soft spice character and some wheat malt coming through. Dry finish. Hard to recommend

Pours pale amber with a small lasting head.
Nose shows coriander, citrus peel and some doughy wheat. Pretty spot on for the style, nice and refreshing.
Same story with the flavours but with more of everything! Really quite nice.
Great med-high carbonation and lightish body.

Like someone said before me i havnt had this beer for ages and decided to revisit it and yes it isnt as good as i remembered and its such a shame that this brewery only bottles this beer as this is definately not their best brew and they could definately put themselves at the forefront of OZ mircobrew's if they bottled some of their other beers but anyways it pours a pale see thru straw colour with a fast vanishing one finger head and hardly any lacing at all,the aroma is orange rind,honey,corriander and some nice wheat notes,it has an average mouthfeel and the orange rind,wheat taste is dominant unfortunately i remember this beer being heaps better and it seems like there has been some changes to it if not ive prob just had alot better beers lately.

Haven't had this beer for a while but due to the recent success at the AIBA, I figured it warranted a revisit. Unfortunately it is as average as I remembered. Very pale yellow with a soapy head that dies very quickly. The orange on the nose and the palate is rather cloying and reminds me of orange cordial. Can't really pick up the coriander just the orange and alittle lemon. Carbonated nicely and is a fairly easy drink but somewhat uninspiring. Heard that it is quite a different beer on tap. Haven't had the pleasure yet. I hope it is better because in the bottle it's a pretty bland wit.

Pours a pale straw colour with a foamy white head. Not very cloudy and no visible yeast left in the bottle.

Aromas of orange, wheat and coriander are all over this. The orange is quite sweet and almost candylike.

I feel like I'm drinking candied orange. I get the wheat notes and some spicy coriander but I can't get past the very sweet orange. It isn't bad per se but it is a little bit over the top.

A medium light body is coupled with vibrant but not overbearing carbonation to create a crisp, refreshing beer.

On the whole, it is okay but Feral have over done the orange here. A crisp refreshing beer for summer.

Pours a pale straw colour with strong head, creating a nice head of off-white froth, very densely packed at the top. Retains pretty well and leaves a nice sticky ring of lace. Slight trace of haze in the glass caps this off. Nice-looking brew.

Smells very citrusy; there is a distinct orange note there, slightly tart with a pleasant sweetness behind it. Not a great deal of spice although a slight peppery zing to it, and a slight candied aspect which gives this a slight soft drink aroma. Quite pleasant, definitely needs more complexity though.

Taste is again sweet with a long candied orange kind of flavour. The wit aspect is more prominent here though, with a zesty coriander spice on the back and mild peppery notes from the yeast. Hint of ginger as well, and maybe some white grape tannins as well contributing to that mélange of spice. Doesn't have too much of a bite though, and finish is blandly sour with a kind of apple juice flavour, lingers without must gusto and certainly without nuance. The sweetness that underlies the palate is, I think, a bit too sweet, and more spice or a more potent Belgian-ness is needed to counteract and make the palate more interesting. It has potential but falls flat towards the end.

Mouthfeel has a nice bit of sizzle and is quite smooth. It's good for what it is, I feel if the flavour were better, but still felt like this, it would be thin, but because the flavour isn't so powerful this feels quite appropriate. It's definitely quite sessionable but the lack of interest would bug me after a while.

Poured with an ok head, retention was ok but the lacing was good and thick. Hazy straw coloured liquid.

Smell was pleasant enough. Had the wheaty grassy breadlike smell one expects from the style. Nice and malty and a little spicy though I'd have expected it to be a little spicier on the nose.

Taste started off very pleasant and refreshing. Very wheaty, a touch of spice and a sour note at the back. Went very well with the meal. I did find by the end that the sour note was beginning to dominate and my last few mouth fulls weren't so enjoyable.

Light bodied compared to what I was expecting. Carbonation was for refreshment rather than for savouring (ie on the robust side).

Until those last few sips I thought I could put away a few of these. Maybe if I drank it fast enough for it to stay reasonably chilled the sourness wouldn't have become out of balance to my tastes.

Overall it's a nice addition to the current line up of Australian beers. Hoping to find some more Feral around the place. Will probably be trying this again from time to time.

Pours a dark, cloudy yellow. Haze is only slight, despite the rather vigorous swirling of the sediment I tried. Head was initially quite frothy, but dissipates to a film rather quickly. Lacing is very good though.

Nice resin and candied orange notes on the nose. Not particularly strong, but rather authentic. A hint of copper is the only unwelcome note. Otherwise, very nice.

Taste is also very decent, a nice smooth creamy wheat character, and a slight sour twang at the back. Mouthfeel is just great. A little too much carbonation could destroy the delicate flavours, but this is very subtle. There's a very slight bitter character creeping in at the end, which is unwelcome, but that's starting to nitpick what is an otherwise fine example of the style.

This is a witbier done particularly well. I'm not sure I've had a better one from Australia. It's not as big and flavoursome as some of the better ones I've had elsewhere, but it is a true and accurate representation of the style.

a) Pours a hazy straw colour, with a rough white head
s) Seeds, wheaty, cumquat
f) Wheat grain, coriander seed noticable. Citrus slightly restrained in comparison. Slight sourness, and finishes quite dry. Could have a bit more creamy wheat sweetness in there.
m) Tingly up front, finishes with a bitter coarseness. Touch hollow.
d) Good for a few

Poured a cloudy straw yellow colour with good head, & retention plus impressive carbonation.

A: A little florally, cloves, & that belgium wheat yeast with a breadiness/doughy smell.

T: The taste so reminded my of Hoegaaren Wit: wheaty, spices (cloves), citrussy, & also got a little (just a hint) of sourness & tart. No signifant malty flavour other than some wheats & grains. Did have a little bitterness to finish.

M: Also pleasant but not to crisp.

I really enjoyed Feral White, not as smooth as a hoey (maybe no intentions, as this has a fraction more bitterness & tartiness) & would definately recommend this to wheat beer lovers.

Had this on tap at the Brewery Restaurant in the Swan Valley. Cloudy dull yellow appearance with a decent head. Loses points for being expensive (A$9 a pint - given little creatures retail theirs for $8), but a lovely drop of beer with the softly spicy citris notes, a slight taste of orange peel, and a full flavoured unfiltered taste. An easy drinking beer, and worth the visit to get it on draught.

Appearance - Cloudy and pale, 2 fingers of head which reduced.

Smell - Quite strong, both spicy and fruity

Taste - The citrus and coriander stand out in the taste.

Mouthfeel - Good carbonation and texture.

Drinkability - Quite an easy drinker

Overall - Better than Hoegaarden, in my opinion.

Poured a finger and a half of bubby, off-white head that quickly all but disappeared. Body is a cloudy, white peach flesh colour.

Smell - 3.5
A typical, zesty witbier smell of wheat malt, spice, coriander and orange. Not strong, but entirely pleasant.

Taste - 4.0
As tasty as Hoegaarden? I think so! Tangy, slightly sour, flavours of wheat, lemon, orange peel and a little coriander. Very refreshing.

Mouthfeel - 4.5
Just about perfect for the style with a constant fine, nearly sharp carbonation, moderate weight in the mouth. Goes down smoothly.

Drinkability - 4.0
Not something I would usually drink as a session beer, but as an easy summertime drink that is tasty with a low ABV.

OVERALL - 3.85
The obvious benchmark is Hoegaarden, and I think Feral White is right up there. It is comparable in quality (slightly tastier, but more clove would be better) and has a clear price advantage here in WA. A beer for guzzlers and connosuiers alike and one of the best things to come out of the Swan Valley.

Poured beer in a Hoegaarden glass. Very small head and cloudy. I think i can see vigorouse effervescence when I hold glass up in front of a lamp.
Tart smell with bubblegum and hint of citrus.
Taste is similar but more fruity then I expected. .
Light to medium mouthfeel with good carbonation.
I only bought two bottles, but could easily had a few more.
