500 ml bottle, had a bottle date but I forgot to write it down, poured into a snifter.
A- Pours a dark brown color with an inch of off-white head, very good retention and lacing.
S- Sweet aroma of dark fruit, caramel, brown sugar and bread. This actually smells really, really nice. I'm usually not into doppelbocks because of excessive sweetness, but the aroma here is sweet and complex without overdoing it.
T- Again, not too sweet at all. Flavor has a really nice dark fruit component, along with nuts, bread, caramel and brown sugar.
M- Medium-bodied, soft, creamy and smooth.
O- I was very pleasantly surprised by this, it's damn tasty stuff, easily my new favorite in the entire style.

Appearance: Chestnut colored, cream head, quickly dissipates
Aroma: Malty, sweet, honey-like
Taste: Sweet, creamy, with hoppy, dry finish; well balanced
Remarks: This turned out to be my go-to Doppelbock when I lived in Stuttgart.
Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores

Nice fizzy head, hazy sediment yeast laden chestnut brown color
Nose nice toffee, nutty, molasses like almost syrupy candy, toasted wheat, dark wheat, biscuit, etc.
Taste brings light syrupy molasses, then biscuit, toffee, nutty flavors, little buttery brittle, light candy like, lots of wheat and little candied banana, etc. Dry finish, lingering toffee and nutty flavors as well as the banana wheat.
Mouth is med to a bit heavier bodied, nice carb.
Overall quite nice, cross between a nice German dunkel, and Belgian like monk style beer.

"Benediktinische Gastfreundschaft im Andescher Bräustüberl." Brewed in the style of a Doppelbock, one of the highest rated Doppelbock beers in the world, this beer is not distributed outside of the abbey. Thanks to my brother for bringing this highly anticipated treat back from Germany. Date on bottle is 15 03 12.
Poured from a 500ml. bottle to a flute glass. Served north of 51º Fahrenheit.
(Appearance) Pours a thin copper cream head of a frothy consistency. Body color is a mahogany orange amber of high clarity with ample carbonation. Retention is average. Appearance is pretty nice. 3.5
(Smell) Moderately toasted german malts, a touch of grain character for depth. Big notes of plums, dates and figs and a clean bready yeast tone. A pinch of warming ester alcohol. Very clean aroma, but full of depth. Potency is medium/high. Very inviting aroma. 4.25
(Taste) A modest caramel and german malt sweetness with a touch of bready grain depth, despite being even cleaner than the nose gave off. Immediately follows through with a wave of dark fruit characters- figs, dates and raisins with a moderate sweetness that transitions seamlessly from the malt profile to finish off with a clean, ideally balanced finish. Hops are mostly faded but the malt and yeast characters in this beer are truly enough to carry it unaided. 4.5
(Mouthfeel) Very clean texture with a smooth bready texture, moderate carbonation. Body is medium for the style, medium/heavy overall. Alcohol presence is low. Really nice texture and carbonation level overall. 4.25
(Overall) I really enjoy the depth and the drinkability of this Doppelbock. My favorite part is the yeast depth falling together so well with the malt profile. This is a well hidden gem of a Doppelbock. Definetly worth trying! 4.25

Ah, the legendary Andechser Doppelbock. I got my chance to try it on-tap at Andechser am Dom in Munich and was excited to have the chance. On to the beer:
This doppelbock is ruby brown in color with red and orange hues which add an extra texture to the appearance. That's not to ignore the good amount of lace which whip around the glass. The nose makes me think of a meal in a glass, a strong dark sweet bread note, but trailing it is a kiss of chocolate. The flavor provided is big in quantity; it's toasty, bready, a little bit sweet, and has a breath of alcohol whicc compliments rather than disturbs the chemistry of the beer. It's medium full bodied, which is fitting, though perhaps not as warming as I expected given the talk of this beer. Make no mistake, this is good stuff that I would recommend you taste when you come to Bavaria.

Served from a 16.9oz (0.5L) bottle into a Guinness 250th anniversary Imperial Pint. Fridge temp.
Grabbed by a coworker for me while he was in Germany.
Appearance- Relatively clear amber/brown with one finger of bubbly white head that didn't last long leaving a pleasant ring around the beer.
Smell- Caramel malts, mild hop earthy aroma, metalicy smells, maybe some dark stone fruit. Not too impressive. Mostly just roasted malts.
Taste- Caramel, toffee, cherry, plum, light roasty coffee, and a heavily roasted malt backbone. On the sweeter side, but not cloying by any means.Perfect example of a Dopplebock. Alcohol is hidden as well.
Mouthfeel- Smooth and rich (but not too viscous) with moderate carbonation. No booze burn at all. Very creamy throughout.
Overall- One of the best Dopplebocks I've had. Truly a fantastic example of the style.

Brownish ruby colour, ring of off white head, light lace on the glass as well. Smell is a nice mix of malt and dark fruits, comes off quite jammy with some nutty/almond like points, but great aromas of malts and fruit all the way through. Taste isn't quite as nice as the nose but retains the flavours of malts and nutty dark fruit, a bit jammy as well, plums and a bit of chocolate mid palate into the finish, more dark fruits in the aftertaste. Medium carbonation, medium bodied with a nice feel. A really good doppelbock but not as good as Celebrator, still really nice to be able to try this though.

Shared by Pino, 500ml into a tulip.
Dark brown with mahogany hues, beige head with great retention and good lace. Nose is bready, jam and dark fruit notes, nuts and toffee. Taste has mroe bready flavours, dark fruits, toasted grains, a sweeter 'jammy' flavour pervades but dries out in the finish. Medium full, real smooth lower carbonation without any alcohol. An excellent doppel, would doppel again.
