Definitely a great place to stop and load up. They don't have everything, but they did have an awful lot of stuff including a few that are hard to find. Only one Alesmith offering (the wee heavy), but thats one more than I've seen elsewhere in Northern California. They had quite a few of the Stone products, Moylans, Bear Republic, Marin, Lagunitas. Rogue, etc., but no or very little Russian River. I think this place sells through much of their inventory pretty quickly, so quality is high. Also, much is in coolers, so that helps as well. No one offered to help me, and I didn't ask. Overall a good stop.

The bartender at Russian River recommended this place to try to find Beautification (Russian River didn't have any). They didn't have any either but it was a good stop anyway.
The selection is outstanding, and the prices were the lowest I've seen on many of the beers. Examples: Alesmith 750ml at $8.99 (it's $12.99 back home), Bear Republic 22oz at $2.99, Chimay 3-pack of 330ml + chalice at $10.99
The prices aren't cheap enough to drive to Santa Rosa, but if you're planning to visit Bear Republic or Russian River you might as well stop here afterwards for something to take home.

The Bottle Barn is equivalent to the Beverage Warehouse in Los Angeles, CA. It is a warehouse for alcohol, wine and beer and has a pretty good single bottle selection in the cooler and aging on the shelves. If you are tasting around the area and want to buy a bottle at one of the breweries, I would check bottle barn first if you want to save a bit of money. For instance, Bear Republic's beer is about 1 dollar cheaper at the Bottle Barn than at the Brewpub.
I picked up quite a few beers from Moylan's that I could not get in Southern Cal, especially the Hopsickle. God, I love that beer.
I found that they had some odd beers from Belgium that I had not seen at other locations. I would definitely check this place out and grab a couple cases before you leave the area.

After a trip to Bear Republic, and an event laden drive back to Santa Rosa, a stop at Bottle Barn was easily accomplished. Just off the 101-N, taking the Mendocino Avenue exit and a few twists and turns will have you at the Bottle Barn, located in one of those small every unit looks the same Industrial areas about 4 miles north of downtown Santa Rosa itself.
A glowing neon Bud Light sign to the right of the official but staid Bottle Barn signage didnt seem to bode well. The interior is an open warehouse, nothing fancy, just rows of shelving and stacked boxes all over. Predominantly biased towards the Wine buyer, and why not this is Sonoma County after all, it does however have a nice selection of beer.
A short walk forward once inside soon has you facing a handful of coolers which are filled with 22 ounce Bombers from a nice variety of craft brewers. I picked up the last 2 Bomber bottles of Moylans Hopsickle (this is the first time I have ever seen this!), a Deschutes Hop Trip, Island Starry Night Stout 2004 and a never before seen bottle of Anchor Bock.
A nice selection of 22ounce Bombers, both in and out of the coolers, lots of 12 ounces in 6-Packs, it looked like they didnt sell the 12s as singles. Heavy on Cali brews, has more Marin and Moylans bottles than the BrewPubs themselves. Bear Republic Tribute Brown and XP Pale Ale both drew my attention as I rarely see that in SoCal. A varied range to Euro brews including some classic Belgians and a rarer seen bunch of weirdo Russian brews. Only concern regarding quality of beers on offer was the fact that they still had Bombers from Ross Valley on sale, as it appears that they closed some time ago.
Prices seemed fare and reasonable. I never asked for any service and I wasnt refused any, I picked up my own brews and took them to the desk, I have nothing bad to say about the chap who checked-out my beer, he offered a Box without asking and seemed like he knew what he was doing. Hard to mark service on occasions like that so Ill go with a 3.5, seems fair enough.
Thanks to BA Rapapoda for directions here, putting up with the blow-out on the way and covering my back on the 101 whilst I did the spare wheel change!
Make time to do the short 4 mile trek here if youre staying in the centre of Santa Rosa.
Last Visit: Monday 2nd January, 2006.

Thanks to RedwoodGeorge for turning me on to this place. This place is what bev'mo should be - big with high quality. They have an excellent selection of CA's finest beers and they carry plenty at great prices. They had some left over Belgian Xmas beers including Avec and Val Dieu. They also had cases of Stone's 9th Anniversary as well as Bear Republic's Tribute Brown. Everything they had was reasonably priced if not cheaper that anyplace I've been to. Any BA traveling to Russian River should make a pit stop and stock up. I dinged them on the service but I didn't get any nor ask for it which is ok.
