A very hot day walking around Granada and time for a cold brew. Poured from a clear 12 oz. bottle. Has a pale yellow color with a half inch head. Smell is mild, some malts. Taste is crisp, rather bland, dry at the finish. Feels light in the mouth and overall, while very easy drinking in the tropics, I would not need this one at home.

A: Clear, bright yellow color. Poured a 3 finger coarse white head with surprising retention. Lightly decanted. Sticky lace in spots at the start.
S: Hay, grass and some white pepper. Faint sweet malt and buttered corn.
T: Very much like the smell. Just add a faint peppery bitter that can't quite balance the buttered corn flavor. Some report beer as skunked; mine was not.
M: Light body. Ample carbonation. Finish starts like it will be crisp an dry, but bitten can't overcome.
D: Pretty easy to drink, but nothing special and nothing seriously wrong with it 9at least mine wasn't)

From the 355 ml. bottle marked 030310-1217A5. Sampled on November 17, 2009. The pour is a typically straw yellow with decent clarity and bubbly carbonation. There are malts in the aroma as well as grass and corn. The mouthfeel is thin but it has a smooth quality about it. The taste is also on the malted side but also rather corny and grassy. It is pretty similar to most cheap American Adjunct lagers and nothing very exciting.

What can I say? Its the expensive "premium" beer there. It did not taste premium by my standards, and cannot say I liked it either. It looked like any other pale light beer. I was not impressed by the beer bottle either - clear. It smells like any mass produced beer. Tona (as the previous poster said) tastes better and is generally cheaper there (most of the time, only by a quarter, but it is Nicaragua, where no beer is usually more than a dollar). I only had it once, because it wasnt worth the "premium" price that they charged, for something that tastes more or less the same as all of the other cheap beers.

This is the third beer I had in Nicaragua and my least favorite. In fact I usually found it to be the most expensive option, although usually less than a buck. If you're there I'd recommend Tona.
This beer is the same pale yellow water as the rest of the country's beers, but it came with a little bit of an off character. I just chalked it up to the clear bottle it comes in. I don't have too much else to say aboiut it so I'll give it the standard once-over:
A: Fizzy. Yellow. Thin. Macro.
S: Mild sweetness with some off smells.
T: Cold. Yes that's a taste. Cold and skunky beats hot and skunky.
M: Like a soda without the stickiness.
D: So-so. It's cold and refreshing but there's better stuff available for cheaper.

A little smelling like wasted Beer, but a lager anyway. I liked it because it refreshed me in Managua, but it looks a little green, and the taste was a little like those macro lagers all around. It was a little hard to find this beer in NIcaragua, the rest of them were more easy for me.
