This BJ's is probably the best "last chance" to get a good pint of beer before crossing the river in to Washington. The location on Hayden island is kind of lame simply because it is surrounded by parking lots and giant stores, and I'm always suspicious of places you couldn't possibly get to except for a significant drive. Still, it really is one of the only attractive stops, and beats the rest for a bite.
The building is recognizable as a BJ's, and right inside the front doors stands an attractive brewery. There's plenty of literature about the beers and process around, and beer paraphernalia adorns the walls. Aside from the brewery through the glass, it doesn't stand out as different from other restaurants except for the pizza stands on the table that are shaped like grain silos or conical fermenters. There were something like 8 beers on tap plus 3 seasonal. I tried a seasonal bourbon barrel stout, which was good.
The service was also good, though wasn't able to offer much advice about beer. Quick, friendly, and what seemed to be all female (not the individual, the group). The food was quite good, and complimented the beer well.
Overall, the place is pretty good, though somewhat of an anomaly among other massive retail outlets.

Ahhh, BJ's.... What can you say about a CORPORATE brewpub? Blastphamy!?
This BJ's is probably the best of the 50 or so BJ's around the country... Why? They not only have their own brewery, they have a brewer who is brewing outside the Corporate box! We have to thank them for that! The seasonal "NON-STANDARD (Corporate)" beers are very nice.... I've had a good share of Belgian styles from the brewoub, as well as, an AWARD winning STOUT. A Bourdob Barrel Russian Imperial Stour rings a bell as being top shelve in quality...
Beer wise...It's definitely worth a look!
Now, the bad news... The Corporate standard beers are HORRIBLELY boring, mediocre and watery. Basically they are "TEA" beer... Very thin and watery with only a light tea bag dunk of beer flavor! ;-}
Food is Corporate diner fair.... you know, crap!
The lounge places 80's music, over and over and over... Painful!

BJ's (a california based company) has long tried to establish a foothold in the northwest. Basically in Portland there are alot better places to have a pint. The beers are typical. The service is average and the atmosphere is OK. Aside from the fact that they make their own beer they are basically old chicago without the beer selection. House beers include BJ's Blonde ( a German-style Kolsh), Terminator Stout (not too bad) and Jerermiah Red ( probably the best beer on tap). They used to offer up some belgian specialties but it seems that has gone.
