This fresh hop ale bursts with spicy citrus flavors from hops grown locally and picked fresh at Sulphur Creek Farm, with the proceeds benefiting the Beaman Park to Bell's Bend Conservation Corridor.

Not sure why this is listed as "retired." Was able to acquire from JJ's the other day.
Anyway, the bottle boasts that this one "bursts with spicy citrus flavor." I don't agree that it bursts with anything. Nice rich tangerine color leaving rows of lacing after every taste. Refreshing spicy carbonation going down, but the taste falls between your run of the mill cream ale and club soda. A little lemon, maybe some coriander. But that's it, and not a lot of it. Not a lot of anything.
I love Yazoo so I'll give 'em a pass but...meh.

Pours golden orange with a nice frothy white head that leaves great lacing on side of glass. Aroma is spicy, grassy and biscuit. Flavor follows suit. The combination of spicy and grassy hops with the heavy biscuit could be balanced better, or perhaps its missing something to better tie everything together. A creamy, active medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, solid beer but room for improvement. Would drink again, won't seek it out though.

Poured into a pint glass out of a 750 ml bomber.
Pours a clear medium copper with a thick one finger white head. The most impressive thing is the way the head maintains itself on top of the beer the entire time it is in the glass. Rock-solid head retention.
Aroma is very bready with notes of flowers and fresh-cut grass. A touch skunky and soapy in spots but it works well. Smells almost like a European Pale Lager.
The flavor reveals a touch of citrus mixing in with the grass and bread. More euro lager character which I happen to really love. The fresh hops used in this really stand out and bring the grassy and floral notes. Mouthfeel is somewhat soapy and light finishing crisp and clean.
Overall, I love that local hops are used and the unique hop character really makes this beer. Nicely done and the hop terroir makes this interesting.
