Notes:
A new version of an American classic. Our Yazoo Pale Ale bursts with spicy, citrusy hop aroma and flavor, coming from the newly discovered Amarillo hop. The wonderful hop aroma is balanced nicely with a toasty malt body, ending with a cleansing hop finish. Made with English Pale, Munich, Vienna, and Crystal malts, and generously hopped with Amarillo, Perle, and Cascade hops. Fermented with our English ale yeast.

Pours a translucent copper with a 2-finger off-white head. Minimal lacing.
The smell is faint, pine and floral hops with just a hint of biscuity malts. Flavor is like the scent, subdued. Mainly piney, slightly bitter hops and a hint of sweetness of caramel malts. Mouthfeel is light medium-bodied with a biting carbonation.
Rather underwhelming, which is unfortunate because I've liked everything else I've had from Yazoo. The flavor and smell just aren't there, and the body is lighter that I would like in an APA. The lack of hops reminds me of an English Pale Ale but not malty enough.

This offering from Yazoo pours up a medium slightly hazy gold with a small head and not much lacing or retention. The nose is very overwhelming fruit and citrus. Taste is very malt forward with a big sour apple flavor up front. Not much hops on the finish. Kind of unbalanced. Mouthfeel was sort of average, not offensive, not spectacular. I was sort of disappointed with this one. Having love the Yazoo Hop Project, I expected more. This one is inferior to the ubiquitious SNPA or Dale's Pale Ale. But it is drinkable, not horrible.

Was at Opryland Hotel in Nashville for a week long conference. Tried this the first night and really enjoyed it. First night I had it with Shrimp & Grits - nice combination. Second night I had it a couple of hours after dinner - worked very well alone. Later in the week I had it with Ribs - also good combination
Poured from bottle into glass had a perfect head. Really liked the taste of the Amarillo Hops along with the citrussy flavors.
Now hoping to find somewhere to buy it locally.

Came in a standard pint glass a clear lighter amber with a tinge of burnt orange,a half finger white head atop.Aromas of biscuit malt and fruity/grassy hops, the biscuit malt wins out over the hops.To me the flavors are like an ESB,a big mildly sweet bready malt base with a smattering of fruity hops in the finish, not bitter hops just a fruity lightly herbal component. Not bad but don't expect a big hopped up APA,again more like an American ESB.
