I had this on tap at BWI, so I don't know, maybe take this with a grain of salt because I might be predisposed against anything that happens there. I guess I just felt that even for a pale ale, it could've been stronger. I'd have liked more hops and more bitter. The color was a strange, slightly hazy orange. Consider giving it a try I guess in case the setting biased me against the beer.

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before January 2013. Pours slightly hazy orange amber color with a nice 1-2 finger fairly dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings to the glass. Aromas of orange, lemon zest, caramel, pear, apple, bread, floral, grass, and light herbal. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and ok strength; very unique aromas. Taste of orange, lemon, pear, caramel, bread, floral, grass, herbal, and light toast. Minimal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, light fruit, caramel, bread, floral, grass, and herbal on the finish for a short bit. Pretty nice flavor balance; with a very nice balance of hop/malt flavors; zero cloying flavors present after the finish. A little buttery as well, with unique hop flavors. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a solid pale ale. Very tame with well balanced malt and hop flavors; and very smooth to drink. This was a pretty enjoyable offering.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a Samuel Adams Boston Lager glass. Taken from a Heavy Seas variety pack.
Appearance: Pours a very clear, bronze-brown color. Has a large, foamy head that dissipates quickly and leaves some spotty lacing.
Smell: Has a nice earthy hop smell backed by a considerable sweet maltiness.
Taste: Moderately hoppy with strong earthy, grassy flavors. The hoppiness is balanced by a toasty, slightly sweet maltiness.
Mouthfeel: A bit on the thin, light-bodied side.
Overall: A decent enough pale ale. Not up to Heavy Seas' usual standards, but passable nonetheless.
