Almost black colour. A beautiful dark tan head leaves a solid lace. Aroma: roasted malt, dried fruits, smoke, espresso, dark chocolate, cigar box and some lactic tones.
Flavour: raisins, dark choco, bitter espresso and perhaps some licorice root. Beautiful bitter finish. One of the best beers brewed in Sweden.

RBESG 2006, bottle. Dark reddish brown colour, nearly black. Very nice roasty aroma, notes of bakery, coffee, liquorice and dark chocolate. Nice roasty flavour with rye bread and coffee notes, hints of chocolate. A very good stout.

Had this three years ago and just Had it again, this time in Stockholm. (The re-rate bumps Taste by .25.)
Pours an opaque black with a lush brunette head that, regrettably, goes away. (They always do.)
While I got lots of dark, roast malts to smell, the taste came in richer than expected. (Glad this was my dessert.)
But either the hops or over-toasted malts dried out my tongue a bit more than I like. (But obviously, I still like this Imperial.)
Reviewed in "The 1001" Beers To Taste Before You Die", I recommend that you do that also (taste Oscar's Imperial, that is !)
